You go girl! You and I seem to be on the same schedule here. I was banded 9/30 and have lost 21lbs. Go for my first fill this week, yay! I'm tired of eating. hehe. Congrats, thats awesome and very inspirational. -
I'm thinking i have the same issue as you. I have sort of a knot under the skin by my "bigger" incision on the left side. Its not the port incision. It almost feels like the muscle has bunched up or hardened in that area. Weird. It doesnt really hurt, but if i sleep on my left side for too long its sore in the morning. I dont think its the band because the band is more up towards the middle of your belly. Could just be sore muscles or healing muscles I'm thinking. Let me know what you find out!!

Ok I have lost 22lbs since my surgery Sept 30th. I recently started exercising and Saturday night after my shower, I was puttin on lotion and noticed a dent - not a small one either - right smack in the middle of my shin. It was the STRANGEST thing I have ever seen. A friend saw it and said she had that happen when she lost some vanity weight. She said it was a fat pocket that had moved or dissolved and it would be fine. She said another of her friends had the same thing happen to her. She said she got hers in her thighs and hips mostly. I find this very strange. Anyone have any experience with this?

Are you a closet bandster? & Do you regret your decision?

I might as well put an ad in the local paper. I told EVERYBODY. I dont mind either. I find if you just get it out, then you wont have to worry about someone you trusted with your secret telling the whole town and having them talk behind your back. I work in an office of 80 women. We gossip! Its in our blood. So when I decided I made sure I told as many ladies as possible so I wouldnt have the issue of them whispering behind my back. I'd rather them confront me personally with their questions and concerns than have them have their own nasty conversations about me. I havent gone back to work yet since my surgery, but I got two cards signed by everyone at work and i do mean EVERYONE! It almost made me cry. About every comment suggested something that I was already beautiful but I would be a hottie after a while now. So for these reasons I am so very glad I told everyone. I think it made them support me more than be negative. But, my case could be 100% different than someone elses. On other issues in my life I am very private because of the hatefulness of people, so I completely understand. Good luck with your surgery and I wish you a skinny healthy future! -
As I thought, today I woke up and feel like a million bucks! I got some good overdue sleep last night and took a good shower. I havent had to take a vicodin this morning yet. My gas is subsiding and passing, thank goodness. Thank you all for your info. I dont know what I would have done without it!

Hi All! I was just banded on Friday Sept 30th and was wondering what day you really started feeling good? 2, 3, 4 - 10 days post op? Yesterday I could hardly get out of bed, today its a lot better except the gas is gonna be the death of me. And I'm still pretty sore. I think I put too much of a high expectation on me being a tough girl. Thought I would feel a lot better at this point. I have absolutely no interest in food right now. I even smell things that would have made my mouth Water 3 days ago and I still dont want them! Love it. My roomie at the hospital had Roux en Y and seemed like she was in less pain than I was. Any thoughts on that?

gurgling noises, burping and tooting

I just got banded Friday Sept 30th. I'm in more pain than I expected, but I'm tough and I figure most soreness/pain reaches its peak at day 3, which is tomorrow. I do also have the gurgles and gas like you wouldnt believe. I'm not passing a lot of it, but I've been taking the baby gas medicine in hopes to relieve some of it. Been walking, but could walk more I suppose to get the gas moving. Oh the dignity we give up for our band!!! So far I can eat just about 4-5 oz of broth, 3 oz or so of apple juice and MAYBE a bite of Jello and i'm ready to call it quits. Water seems to be going down fine. Any suggestions on post-op healing would be great! -
So today, exactly a week before my surgery, my surgeon's office called me at 4:45pm to tell me that they had some bad news... My surgeon got called back east to an emergency so they have to reschedule my surgery!!! Gosh dangit!! I waited all this time to be put back even more! hehe. I kinda feel like it was meant to be though, because I have come down with a wicked cold this week and I've been to the Dr. twice for medicine to kick this cold. I think I'm finally beating the cold. So now, instead of wondering if I'll be all better before surgery, I know I will be all better. Always a positive side. So now my surgery date is Sept 30. Works for me. Good luck to you all who are to be banded and have a speedy recovery!!!

Hey! My date is Sept 23rd also! we'll have to compare notes when we get banded. I'm so anxious! I have no idea what its like to control my eating. The only time I've not ate as much as i do each meal was when i was super depressed and didnt eat for a couple of days. Talk about the worse relationship ever with food! I'm looking forward to this new change in my life. I'm ready for food to not be the highlight of my day. Today I actually smiled at the little packs of applesauce in the grocery store and I look forward to eating it! - one container at a time - not the whole pack! I wish you luck and my thoughts will be with you while I am in recovery as well!

Thanks for the advice Lynn!! I'll make sure to warn my loved ones to stay clear of me for the most part Sounds like you're doing good - for only being 2 days out. I hope I do that well. Now I'm fighting with another hurdle. I've got a massive cold!! Not the week before surgery!! I'm taking every Vitamin known to man to get this stuff kicked before Mon or Tues so I dont have to take any more meds a couple of days before surgery. Best wishes on getting back to 100% and on your way to your goal!

Hi Lynn, Congrats and glad to hear everything went well! I am being banded next Friday (sept 23rd) and I am getting very very nervous. My biggest question is - do you feel the band inside you? I'm afraid I will panic with that. Silly I know. Any thoughts or comments would be helpful at this point.
