  1. I am going through Hernia repair to have insurance help with some of the financial burden since I have Hiatal Hernia. I have a high deductible plan with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. Has anyone had any trouble with getting BCBSIL to pay a portion for the surgical procedure? I checked my plan and it looks like they were billed $17,500 and only paid $118.90 to the claim? I am NOT going through with this procedure if this will be my out of pocket expense. Waaaayyy more than what I was told to expect by True Results...on top of owing the $3900 for the sleeve itself!!

  5. So I'm getting my GS through True Results Fort Worth with Dr Nicholson. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield but I am going through surgery for Hiatal Hernia and having to finance the Gastric Sleeve portion of my procedure? I have a pretty high deductible and am scheduled for surgery 8/3/2015. I have no idea yet what I'm expected to pay the surgeon (Dr Nicholson) has anyone else had to go the hernia route to get most of the surgery covered? With a high deductible? Thanks!!
  6. August 3rd...and so nervous!! Mostly scared of the post-op pain????
  7. So far I have only been told that I pay only the $3900. I think what happens is they will bill the insurance for whatever fees they will cover and I may get a bill for the rest. My surgery is Monday at Baylor Surgicare and I'm so nervous just for the procedure alone...so I'm definitely hoping there is no surprise bill waiting for me either. Dr Nicholson seems to be a great, easygoing doctor by the way.
  8. I thought the same thing...the only price I was given was for the $3900 Sleeve procedure, which I financed through True Results. I was told that my deductible and max would be owed to Dr Nicholson though for the Hiatal Hernia procedure. I meet with him this Thursday so I suppose I will get my final cost from him then.
  9. Thanks BrownEyedTxGirl I did put a call in to Dr Nicholson's office and am waiting on a call back. I'm so nervous that this procedure will be out of my price range. I'm truly hoping not though. I'm going through week one of my pre-op diet and have done all the testing needed so my fingers are crossed that all will go well. Good luck on your surgery as well!! ????
  10. I'm scheduled for August 3rd and having a hard time as well. Most of the protein drinks and snack bars are completely gross. I'm looking for smoothies as well.
