Hi, I'm Kelsey!
 
I started my journey on April 17th when I met with my surgeon for the 1st time and we went over everything and I decided that I really wanted the Gastric Bypass. From there, I had 4 appointments with a nutritionist over 4 months, met with a psychologist, and had an endoscopy. I've lost 11 pounds throughout this part of the journey. 
 
On August 20th, I got my approval for Gastric Bypass from the insurance, and I was able to schedule my surgery for August 27th!! Right now it feels surreal and I don't think it's really going to feel real until I wake up from surgery and most of my stomach is missing, but every morning I wake up knowing I'm one day closer to this happening. 
 
My mom had the Gastric Bypass surgery 5 years ago, and my brother and aunt had the Gastric Sleeve surgery 2 and 3 years ago (respectively). Watching their journeys, and my growing size, is what lead me to set an appointment with the doctor.
 
I'm eager to have the surgery and start really living my life!
