stalled for 5 months....how to prevent bad habits?
lealor replied to linuxangel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@linuxangel I too am going back to bad habits and definitely eating some slider foods and late night eating....its amazing how fast the weight is coming slowly back. Also adding more carbs and slider foods have really made my mood low,,,,feeling discouraged. -
I was a mess before surgery. I went to Tijuana on top of it all!!!! Very scary. It has beeen 10 months and it still has its emotional, scary moments. I had a hard recovery yet I would do it all over in a heartbeat. You will be fine...be positive, be happy....your new life really begins. You will be fine....xoxoxox P.S. The person that is complaining about pre op diet.......you have to embrace this change, as it is mind blowing after surgery if you don't do it now

Hi I have been struggling my friends. I am at my goal weight of 177.(now its 168)..now i seem to be a fat out of shape person who just happened to lose 72 pounds and has a smaler stomach.I have been eating alot more junk. Funny thing i feel like junk. Felt so good mentally when i was eating better. I have a personal trainer ( no charge and a blessing) to help me get stronger. My hair is so thin, I am thankful i had the surgery but seem like im back to some bad behaviors. Still cant drink water!!! If i use crystal light it is a bit better. I guess I haven't come on here as I don't want to be negative. eating at night, eating chips....having a few cold beers. Ambarrassed. -

Lost my motivation and discipline at 4 months out?!?!
lealor replied to itstimealready's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
@CowgirlJane@Jennifer Ostermeier@@SassyNanny - - - great advice friends. Yes it is a constant living breathing life style change. All these suggestions are so important. Im 6 months out and finding its a conscious effort to stay mindful of my new lifestyle. I work with a lady who was sleeved 5 years ago, she lost 100 pounds, and now has gained 70 back. Scary. It takes time, to lose, to be serious, to stay on track and to get your nutrition and exercise in. -

Hi Everyone: I am down 70 pounds, however to everyone else it looks more like 25-30 ish. To be honest, I don't see that much difference either. Getting rid of clothes is a measure I guess as I have gotten rid of 11 garbage bags full of clothes, that was hard. I started thinking maybe Ill keep some OMG no I am not keeping these size 18 clothes. Never going back there.Yet, even to think that scares me. I work with a woman who was sleeved 5 years ago. Lost 100 pounds, and is now 70 pounds heavier. She has gained 70 pounds back. I watch what she eats and drinks and think.....yikes bad habits are a bitch. I do see some habits slowly coming back now after a long rough recovery from my surgery. Is anyone else struggling with exercise and or mind frame? My skin is so saggy and have to start weight training. I guess mentally is just as hard as physical adjustments, and I am struggling with both. -

Don't beat yourself up. It is your body that is just taking time to adjust. Make sure you are taking in enough calories for all your workouts. Just breathe and scale will move.!♡ -
My surgery is this Tuesday 2/26 I'm so nervous.
lealor replied to leonelbreton's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Biggest and best decision you guys. Hard mentally and physically for a while. Im 6 months out and finally feeling normal...lol -
@choicemun Bring slippers/shoes to walk around in after surgery. Pajamas. Sip sip sip sip after. I would have started to sip before surgery had I known it was going to be such a transition. I didn't go where you are going but I would do it all over again even with a rough recovery. Take some gas x with you. On plane home, get up and walk around a bit

@Margie122 I too have been at the same lose 3 gain 2 cycle. I truly believe this is where adding some strength training and kick up the exercise. I have not really been diligent in this area. I have lost 65 pounds and still feel fat. My skin is really gross on my arms and legs. Has anyone been kind of cheating now? I feel like Im eating more carbs.....just a piece of pizza kind of mentality again -
Flying home was ok. Wear comfy pants and sip water. Stand up once in a while and move around a bit.

@rachelr28....it gets better.....but unfortunately I have to be on a medication called Dexilant which has helped me. I had to be on soups/pureed longer than normal because of this same thing. My Protein drinks saved my life. It does get better, just eat slowly and actually I feel if I move around a bit after eating it really helps still

@ProudMomof2 500-700 calories is not enough for nutrients. ive lost hair...been through hell. I paid a lot of money for this gastric dietician. 1000-1200 calories is mandatory for healthy weight loss. Now I was getting 700 calories, walking, gym 2 ties a week and was at a negative....not good. How can you keep strength up and energy. I am half bald because of the Vitamins and nutrients I was not getting from oral supplements. Not healthy. Its hard, but I feel better, look better and hair loss is better. I use avocados and a little more veggies tuna and my protein shakes and dip to get them in...... -
Should I Really Do This? HELP
lealor replied to Lindsey Skinner Abbott's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Lindsey Skinner Abbott It is up to you, your life, your journey. I am 4 months out and it has been a hard friggin ride. Both mentally and physically. I have had a hard go at recovery, and have terrible gerd now. My life has changed, in every way imaginable. But I get asked this all the time..........."would you do it again?" in a heartbeat. I self paid in Mexico and wished I would have had counselling and more information and preparation but this is 2016 and the internet is a great tool along with this website. Its a game changer man. I cry about my hair loss daily but...hair grows back. Lots of Protein lots of Vitamins, and support helps. I am 57 pounds lighter. I feel more energized, I feel better . Load yourself with knowledge and prepare yourself, its a new life. -

we need at least 1200 calories per day in order to maintain HEALTH and weight loss. ........if you have no appetite, protein shakes...protein...cheese.....my hair is falling out major, and went to a specialist of my own money. Under 1200 calories and no t enough protein and fluids is a disaster in long term health -
what a great post ...@@Djmohr. You are an amazing support, God bless you. I needed info too xoxoxoxLeanne
