Hey -- I just got my second fill for .5cc which brings me to 1cc too! I only lost 5 lbs since my last appt in January..your ticker looks great and just remember, it goes pounds then inches, pounds then inches. By my calculation that means you're in for a scale shift soon!

Another good reason not to eat hot dogs! Get better soon! Glad our band is still safe!

I'm with ya! Except my period has doubled up -- I have it at least twice a month and it is very heavy & 5 days long. Doc said it is due to hormone release from fat stores. Also -- skin is horrible (assume it is the hormones again) and my hair loss is just now slowing down. All these things I think are normal. At least we both have them so if these symptoms aren't normal we have each other!

what about illude?

Hi All -- I am so excited -- getting a fill tomorrow (my second). I haven't lost anything in almost 2 months and I can definately eat more and I am hungry more than I was. Hoping this will give me the jump start I need! Spring?

Congrats !! Soon it will be here. Try to stat practicing some of the banded lifestyle things so you're not in as much culture shock after (like drinking lots of water and taking small bites). Good luck to you! -
What's with all the Hestias? Maybe it has to do with putting others first and that is how we got over weight? Not taking care of ourselves. There is a definate trend here...................

Hey same thing happened to me last week. DH & I were having lunch and I dribbled soup. It landed on my hand which was resting on the table. DH announced "Honey it hit you hand, not your boobs!" He was so excited for me it was cute. Then he got this pathetic look on his face and said "this is very bad news" ...........I for one am actually happy the girls are shrinking -- enough is enough!

I'm a winded wabbit -- lost 50lbs in less than 3 months and now I haven,t lost anything in almost 2 months. Have a fill coming up this Thurs, but I'm definately in the slow lane now..................hoping the fill helps me get back on track and rededicated -- I've definately been lax. Great idea Vines!

++got the band, and still gaining weight ++++
bandayed replied to Magic's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Magic -- here's my words of wisdom. I spent a long time testing my band like you are right now. Eating things "because I could". Then I realized that that is not the purpose of the band. It is a tool to HELP me, not do it for me. The band will guide you as to how to eat better, but if you try to trick it, you can. And I think this is true at any restiction level -- you can eat chocolate and ice cream all day long even at the tightest restriction level. The point is to learn in this phase and as you go along to listen to your band. Don't spend your time trying to test it or trick it because trust me, YOU CAN. If you HAVE TO HAVE cheese steak, eat a few bites and stop. Try to assess whether you still NEED the rest. Make healthier choices first. If you cannot control your cravings or your head hunger, try your best to follow a diet from your Doc FIRST. In other words, have a shake. Wait. Then if you have to have SOME of the other foods eat a smaller amount than you would have. If you eat what bandsters are advised to first, then maybe it will help you curb your other eating. But seriously, let me just answer this question for you that you seem to be asking your band....can you eat it, yes you can. Should you eat it? No, probably not. Listen to the band as much as you can..............a fill will definately help it speak to you in a louder voice..........good luck & go slow............ -
I'm nott sure exactly how long it was, but more than anything, I was just wiped out for a few weeks -- to tired to bother -- sad but true. I don't remember my Doc putting any limitations on it though............
-
Wow for you! You are an after story -- congrats! Good luck seeking your financing hope it works for you -- you DESERVE the surgery!
-
Warm thoughts and wishes for a speedy recovery for Emily. Take care -- ALL of you! Come back when you can, we are always here............

After my last fill I couldn't do anything except liquids for almost two weeks. I didn't experience the magical mystical spit bubble maker though. Have you talked with your Doc yet? In the end I was happy I muddled through the tightness and didn't seek an unfill.......What is it with you two --Strawarts with the exterior bubbles and you Kim with the interior bubbling -- is this some sort of lap bandster hobby I'm unaware of?????????????
-
It is hard at first when you are on liquids & mushies only but once you get back to same more real foods, you don't feel as deprived. Eventually you will be able to have a little bit of popcorn or a treat. Those things don't have to be gone to you forever. It's just about making better choices for the long run. For now, try to celebrate in the good things you are doing for yourself, and know that celebratory foods will be there later once you can know better how to use them wisely...........

OK I nominate myself as neediest since as I am laughing reading this, I am also totally jealous not to have a nomination!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe most pathetic would be good....

OMG! I have had the bubble too -- it's like made of silicone or something -- I was surprised by it as I had me eyes sqeezed tightly shut (which as we all know, alleviates PBing) when I opened my eyes, I thought I was having a 70s flash back -- everything was swirly and pretty -- then I realized I had a horrifying bubble protruding from my lips that was HUGE! It stayed there as I fumbled with the TP to wipe it away -- since I had no idea what it was made of and could have been toxic and I wasn't gonna touch it....... As for cause -- I have had a problem with FROZEN margaritas -- think the cold clamps the band down. I have had to resort to....horrors.....straight up margaritas........maybe this coldness played a roll aside from your food choices....were they frozen? I have to go check out the site for your PB nomination now -- too funny!

Congrats Corgi -- Glad you are feeling good aboout your band -- you deserve it! Good luck on the next 65!

I think Paula has a good idea to help you through this difficult time. Doing something to mark the next step in your journey is a great idea. i was thinking more along the lines of a pedicure though After several weeks of mediocre eating and so so exercising, I gained back a few pounds too that I have fought hard to lose. I was getting so angry and frustrated which lead (big surprise) to emotional eating. I am due to go to the Dr on April 13th and found myself longing for that day so I could get a fill and a kickstart. Then suddenly a light went on that I could just call and change the appointment -- DUH! So now I am going next Thurs! Good luck to you, I think that helping yourself get back on track with diet & exercise will work wonders to help you along with your difficult time....... break the cycle!!! (((hugs)))

Not to steal anyone's thunder, but I've heard Alexandra the moderator say she is in a maintaining mode by choice -- so I thik she is one.........

What others think of your weight loss!!
bandayed replied to Dianechef's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I guess weight loss is a very sensitive issue -- I obviously knew weight GAIN was but who would think the opposite would be true? I was just questioning this myself as very few people comment on my weight loss and I had myself convinced you couldn't even tell. I think actually it is just that people don't know what to say or how to say it! My parents are very happy for my weight loss, but my Dad doesn't ask me about it any more, and I am convinced it is b/c he is heavy himself and like your hair dresser, has issues with my success losing wieght....................... -
Update :: bigbellykellie is out of surgery
bandayed replied to Parvathi's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Kelli -- now you are OFICIALLY an "AFTER"!! Congrats girl! PICTURES! PICTURES! PICTURES!!!! Feel better fast! -
Alot of variables go into how much restriction you have at a given time. I've heard some people on the site say things like altitude affects restriction, point you are in your mestrual cycle, what you've had to eat/drink previously in the day etc. I can't figure it out either. One day is good, another day is bad. I have noticed though that if I'm tight, I'm tight. In other words, don't try again later.........try again tomorrow! It is kind of like a big game sometimes, but for me, there's no arguing with the results, so I'll play the game........if you figure out what the rules are -- let me know!
