    2 weeks post op

I count from the day of surgery.

    2 weeks post op

I'm 10 wks out and have lost 40. If I lose 4, 5 or 6 lbs in a week, the next wk I'll probably lose 2. A couple weeks with big losses results in the next wk of 1, 2, or 3lbs. I don't even look at them as stalls. 40lbs is more than I could lose in a yr...and keep off!!! Good luck ❤️
  3. I was fine until wks 4 and 5. Then for two wks I was nauseous all day. I was so scared it was going to last forever. Then it was gone. Chalked it up to my belly healing. Good luck. It will get better. ❤️

    Feeling the blues

I'm 9 wks out and have lost 40. You're doing great. I never drink protein shakes. I do my best. You sound exactly like me. It's totally normal to feel the blues. It's ok. Feel your feelings. Don't get discouraged. Be happy during the journey. Good luck, girl. ♥️

    Post-op pain

I never used my pain meds. After 2 days it was ok. Don't be nervous!! ❤️

Quantity of Food - 4 weeks out

I don't measure anything, but after 3-4 bites, I'm full. I try and stretch it out 20-30 minutes. I'm 9 wks out.
  7. I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. I was completely addicted to food and knew this surgery was the only way I could lose weight and keep it off. All I did was read diet books and obsess about my calories, carbs...every morsel I put in my mouth. In my opinion, you must relax. All this stress you are feeling is going to hinder your weight loss. I feel like we got this surgery to stop counting calories and obsessing about everything we put in our mouth. I eat what sounds good and stop when I'm full. I've lost 40lbs in 2 months. I don't keep track of anything. You are way too hard on yourself. It's about the journey, not the destination. Be happy along the way. You'll get there. Trust yourself. Love yourself enough to know you've got this. See what happens if you let all this stressing go and listen to your body. It won't fail you. I feel your pain and anxiety. Good luck. Trust yourself. ❤️
  8. I'm 9 wks out and I crave stuff all the time, but I KNOW I can't eat it. Every night I rattle off all the things I want. So I let my mind crave whatever it wants. I gave in to a bite of pizza, threw up. One bite of a chicken nugget, threw up. I refuse to feel like crap. Nothing is worth dealing with a bellyache. If you have a craving that is just driving you crazy, try it. You'll see if it sits well. Pizza doesn't sound good at all now. The cravings will subside because your mind will catch up to your belly. Good luck. ❤️

Quantity of Food - 4 weeks out

I'm 9 wks out and I can still eat 2-4 bites of food and I'm full.
  10. Canned soup is fine and weakness is normal. Your strength will come back slowly.
  11. Everything you are feeling is totally normal. It will all go away. Maybe some anti nausea meds will help. I took Zofran. I am not familiar with that protein. That's alot of protein in one scoop. If something upsets your belly, don't eat it. Do the best you can. If you don't get all your protein, that's ok. All of your issues will be a distant memory in a few months. You're not losing too fast. Good luck. ❤️
  12. I'm not sure if you're eating too much...maybe too fast. I'm sorry you're going through this. Instead of measuring and counting everything...just eat until you're full. That could be one slice of turkey one day and three the next. Some days your belly is just more sensitive. Good luck. ????
  13. I'm 9 wks out and I crave tons of things, but I know I can't eat them. I literally can't. I couldn't stand it one night about three weeks out and had one bite of pizza. Threw up immediately. Took a bite of a chicken nugget. Same thing. So, it was a good lesson. I tell my husband every night...I want an egg roll, a donut, a burrito, corn dogs...we just laugh and I eat my turkey and cottage cheese. I refuse to feel like crap, I do eat what will make my belly happy. I eat random stuff. Whatever sounds good. Nuts, deli meat, veggies and dip, cereal, peanut butter. You'll see what sits well. Good luck. ❤️

    I messed up

You didn't permanently hurt anything. Zantac sounds like a good idea. It's kind of good if you do that once in awhile. You feel so horrible that you won't do it again for a long time. I couldn't stand all the pizza commercials and decided about 3 wks out I've got to have one bite. Totally threw up and pizza hasn't sounded good since. Don't stress. It'll pass and you'll be okay. ❤️
  15. Staying away from carbs. Eating more protein. ❤️

    I'm just...so thirsty.

Try a straw. Works great for me. That thirsty feeling will go away. I'm 9 wks out. You'll be able to drink more. I had to add water with AJ or a little Gatorade in the beginning. I had water nausea and for some reason that helped. Now I put oranges in my water. I need tons of ice. It'll get better, I promise. ❤️

    Buyer's Remorse?

Your feelings are totally normal. I'm 9 wks out. Now most days I'm very happy. But some days I just feel sorry for myself. I think, I can't just take a big ole bite of a cheeseburger or gulp down water. And, I can't believe I had to staple my stomach because I couldn't stop eating. Your mind is so powerful. I let myself feel those feelings and the next day when I get on the scale and I'm down another pound...it's so good!!!!!

    Nobody said anything

I'm down 40 and I think people know something's different so they say, you look great. It's such a touchy subject. Sometimes people don't know what to say. You look skinny (meaning you were heavy). People will start to notice...trust me! ????

    MONEY QUESTION

All my meds were included in the price. I paid $18,000. I put down $500. Good luck!!! You're going to be so happy.

    I hurt the restaurants feeling...

I think I'm going to have to tell waiters I've had the sleeve. We eat out all the time. I take 2-4 bites and they ask me, is everything ok? I think of some excuse every time. ????

    Tired all the time ..

It's totally normal. It will get better. Some days you'll just be more tired than others. I'm 9 wks out and I'm barely making it up the stairs sometimes. No way I could do anything other than walking and stretching. We're eating so much less. Do what you can and don't stress. ❤️
  22. TJBintheOC

    Stall

Totally normal. Wks 4 and 5 I lost a total of 2lbs. Then week 6 I lost 5. It's ok. There will be stalls along the way. I feel as time goes on and I'm getting closer to my goal, it will slow down to 1 or 2lbs a wk. Good luck. ❤️

    B complex?

    Liquid B's at Sprouts.

    Blood Circulation

I had the same thing too. All my limbs were going numb quickly. My hands actually got frozen at times. It will go away. My nurse friend told me calcium pills would help...and they did. Weird things happen after surgery and you panic...but they go away. ❤️
  25. TJBintheOC

    Post op and feeling weak

Don't stress. Try and get in as much liquid as you can. I could only choke down 20 ounces of protein and a bottle of water. I called my nurse friend because I was convinced I needed an iv in the hopt. If you start throwing up, can't put words together, fever...etc., then you're dehydrated. The weakness will pass and every day you'll be able to tolerate more liquids. ????
