:) Hello All,
So I am all smiles currently because I have just started the journey to weight loss surgery. Although all the testing and classes seem a bit daunting  I am still so excited! I guess I could start from the beginning on how and why it came to this point... so basically like a good majority of people I have talked to I have never been a small girl. It's crazy to think about me thinking I was huge in middle school at 150lbs and now wanting and wishing to be that again! Anyway, I have always been a yo-yo dieter. I was a cheerleader and in pageants in high school. I would constantly cut weight and the binge when I could. After the up and down battle I had my first son at the age of 19. He was 10 lbs 3.5 ounces and boy oh boy did that take a toll on my body. He started having medical issues at the age of two and my already poor diet went to hell in a handbasket. I stayed at around 250 but with diet I would drop anywhere between 220-230. As soon as I stopped diet or exercise I was back up to 250. I ended up getting pregnant with twins and was 288 when they were delivered two and a half years ago. Fast forward two and a half years and instead of balancing around 250 I blew up to 279! It is literally all belly too! It is starting to take a toll on my body for only being 26 I feel so old and sore and I know it is due to my weight. My right hip is starting to hurt like I am in my 70's! I feel so uncomfortable in my clothes and can't run around with my kids like I should be able to. Everyday is a stuggle because I feel sluggish and lack energy and then I reach for foods and beverages that give you that quick boost but then leave you feeling tired four hours later. I am hoping to regain my life back and become healthier for my family and myself. I have my EGD scheduled for August 19th and my first Nutrition class for the 20th. Dr. Singh is hoping that I can have my gastric sleeve in February. I am nervous and excited for this change. I decided I need an outlet to talk about it because I don't want to drive all my friends crazy with this! Hope everyone is doing well and I hope to meet and talk to people going through, or already have gone through, this process! Toodles!
