    homecoming pics are here/ladysplenda

She is cutie & I love her dress! Looks like she was having fun. Cannot wait until I'm a mother, but of course, I'll just settle for the 1 niece & 3 nephews that I have for now. I do know what you mean though. I so need to take some before pics yet too, but I have a feeling I won't be doing that until the last minute. Haha. I hate taking pics and if someone takes one of me, I hate to even look at it. I think I'm going to start a scrapbook on my WLS Journey. Anywho, don't be embarrased about your pics. We've all been there or we are there right now. No need to feel embarrased here.

Road Queen is coming to visit tomorrow

Cool. Wish I would have known. I'm in Minot for awhile, hopefully for good, but I would have had Road Queen bring me for a ride on her motorcycle. Haha. Hope you 2 have a fun time. Sounds like fun!!

How did you pay for your banding?

SJ~ I was going to actually ask the same thing today. In my case, I've been on this journey for almost 5 years now. The reason I haven't gone through surgery yet is because of the financing part. I've tried almost everything, with no positive results yet. I'm not afraid to say though, my credit isn't the best. Thus, the reason my being denied a loan for surgery. I have decided though that I will definitely be going South of the Border for my surgery. I'm just undecided on which surgeon to use. I do have 2 in mind though. Anywho, if your insurance doesn't go through, and I hope it does...do not lose hope. There are so many days I thought I would just give up on this because of the money part and so many days honestly, I was jealous because another friend got approved or found the money to go through with their surgery, and it all seemed so easy for them. But after going through this so long, my personality really changed on this very subject. I finally figured if it weren't for all these people sharing there stories, actually going through the same thing and supporting me in anyway they can, I probably wouldn't even be on this journey at all. It's encouraging to come to forums like this and I figure if they can encourage me, support me, whatever, then I can, in return do the same for them, instead of giving up on everyone else who can probably use the support. Know what I mean? Haha. Okay, sorry for going on and on and I think I did just vent a little on your subject, but I just wanted to give you a little encouragment and to let you know your not alone and don't give up and try anything you can to get the funding for this surgery. It's a life saver. Good luck to you!

One week and one day out!!

Hey Vanesa~ Congratulations on a successful surgery and a swift recovery! Sounds like you are doing really well already! I hope I'm in your shoes, in that I mean I hope I have a swift recovery also when I have my surgery. LOL. Just try not to over do it since it is so soon already. I'm sure a little walking will do you fine. Just give it a little more time, so everything can get all healed up nicely. Now hopefully you have all this energy when you can start doing more things huh? LOL. Good luck to you.

    New in Texas

Hello and welcome. You've come to the right site, it's great here. I decided some time back that I wanted to go to MX for my surgery too, because of the price and all the talk about the great surgeons there. When I first got here, I couldn't believe all the people that used the MX Surgeons. I'm so glad that I found this place. I'm still a little undecided which surgeon to use, but I do have 2 in mind. Which is a reason I come here all the time now, research and learning and support. I know I'll have my mind made up soon. Anywho, so glad you can join and I wish you luck on your journey to weight loss.

    New Beginings

Hi there~ :Bunny Congrats on your surgery & your 13 pounds loss already!! You're doing great. I'm still pre-op, but I hear alot of people have the hardest time getting into an exercise routine after surgery. It does take awhile to get some energy. I think one should start off slow. Don't push yourself too hard. Remember, you just had a major surgery. Maybe do a little walking outside, ya know, little things like that. It will give you some extra energy, then who knows in a couple of months you'll have energy you wouldn't think you'd ever have. You're doing fine. Again, congratulations!

    ~*I'm New*~

Thanks for all the welcomes! I think I'm going to like this site alot. One reason being is because there are actually other people from ND here. Another reason is because I am a moderator to another forum like this, but I am the only one who has even considered the Lapband Procedure, so this board will sure help me out even more. Last night I stayed here for about 3 hours just reading past posts. Today, I think I'll do some more catching up. Again, thank you for the welcomes.

    ~*I'm New*~

Hi all~ :Bunny I'm new. I found this site through Obesity Help. I'm so glad the I found it. I am a member of a few message boards, but not one like this. Most of the others only have RNY Patients. You can never have enough support though...right? Anyway, just thought I'd tell a little about myself and where I am on the journey to WLS. Well, I'm 28, live in North Dakota and I've been researching WLS for a few years now. I actually researched the RNY procedure for 3 years. I thought I found a surgeon I wanted to go with in MX, but the financing part wasn't working out so well. Which might sound kinda funny because it's must cheaper South of the Border. LOL. I did try to get health insurance a few years back too, but I was denied because of my height/ratio. I weigh 310 and I'm 5'6. I wasn't too sure of the Lapband Procedure...probably because I didn't research it as much as I did the RNY. But one day, I said, "What the heck," and I started to gather info on it. I'm glad I did. The only thing I was worried about was finding a surgeon here in ND that would do the fills for me instead of traveling back and forth to MX. Tonight, while reading I did find out that there is a Surgeon here in ND that will do the fills for people who get there Lapbands elsewhere. I did find 2 surgeons in MX. I know there are more but I was happy with what the other patients had to say of these 2 surgeons. I know when I do find the money for my surgery, it probably won't be too hard for me to pick which I want to use. Anyway, that is where I am on my journey. I'm sure I could have said alot more because once I start typing, I can't quit. Haha. But I'll keep it a little short...well not too short. I'm happy to have found this site. Hope to get to know some of you and I look forward to the support and I cannot wait to give support in return. See ya!

Help I Must Quit Smoking I Can Do This Right.

Hi Linda~ I'm a newbie here, but I saw your post and thought I'd reply. I sooo now how you feel!! I smoke 1 pack a day and I think the quitting smoking part is going to be so hard to do when it's my turn too. I went on the patch twice a few years back and did quit smoking for 3 months both times and both times I started up again, it was because something bad happened in my life. But I think the patch does work, as long as you have support. We had a support group here and I just quit going, and I'm sorry I did. I've been smoking since. I know deep down the reason I'm always sick is mostly because of my smoking. Ya know, the wheezing, the colds, the coughs. I know I've gotta quit soon too if I want this bad enough. I do not want any complications just because of my bad smoking habit. I know it's probably easier said than done. I just wanted to say good luck to you and I hope you can kick this habit before your surgery. You'll feel so much better knowing you're going into surgery smoke free. If you do gain some weight, it's normal and you shouldn't gain too much to stop you from having your surgery. Good luck and Hugs to you!

    Starting Up

Hey all~ I'm from North Dakota too. I actually went with the GB Procedure, and did find a doctor in Mexico also. But I still cannot come up with the financing part. So I recently start gathering info and contacting patients who had the Lapband Procedure. I'm so glad I found this site and that they have people from ND actually here. LOL. I did notice that some are getting banded in MX. I've been a frequent lurker to the South of the Border Forum at Obesity Help for some time and did come in contact with a few of the patients who did have their lapband there. I'm also happy to hear that there is a Surgeon here in ND who will do the fills on patients who get their bands elsewhere. It was one of my main worries. Anywho, I'm glad I found this site. I hope to get to know you all.
