Does anyone stock up on smaller clothing?

I saved some smaller sizes from a previous weight loss. I plan on as usual for me to hit the thrift stores and consignment stores til I am at my goal weight. The best part is you donate the larger clothes and most thrift stores give you a credit to use in the store when you donate. I am on the smaller end of obesity with 105 lbs now to lose but I think it would be great if there was a source for Bariatric surgery patients to exchange or share clothes with others to help out on the cost of a new wardrobe. I am also a seamstress so I can take in clothes and even re-cut to make a smaller by a couple sizes. You can find a seamstress to help also. Good luck!
  2. I looked online for protein sources. I found Proteinex unflavored liquid protein suppliment. I make my own fat free chicken stock and I love chicken soup so I don't mind eating it every day. I like the idea of the silken tofu so I will try that. I wonder if you put any soup in the blender and strain is that ok to eat? One thing I have been going to when my liquids are down or got the munchies is shaved ice with a concentrated koolaide I make with organic granulated stevia on it. IT IS FABULOUS! I packet koolaide, 1/3 cup stevia in a 12 oz bottle. Crushed ice also works. I am not a chewer of ice so it last a long time just sucking on the flavored ice.
  3. I started my process late last year. I have been very lucky every step from weigh-ins to insurance approval to surgery date all in 9 months. I have a number of issues the surgeon needs to take care of besides the gastric bypass. I have a hiatal hernia, gall stones and liver disease. Having had endometriosis and cystic ovaries which led to a total hysterctomy at 27yrs of age, that old adheisions, scar tissue could pose a longer surgery. I am assuming I will be in 4 days but hope to be out in 3. To add insult to injury my fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and osteoarthritis are screaming!! My Dr only has me on clear liquid diet the day before the surgery. I am thinking maybe starting it earlier. I also ordered unflavored liquid Protein to add to my own homemade defatted chicken stock, Jello, pudding and drinks. Anyone had any experience with the Proteinex? Getting nervous about the surgery itself and the 24th is creeping up fast. Any tips anyone? Kathryn
  4. Hey everyone, I am scheduled for bypass August 24th. Just wondering what you guys found was the best Protein supplements and drinks out there. Also my dietition recommended whole milk or 2% not fat free. Does that go for the yogurt too? Also they aren't having me do the liquid pre-op diet to shrink my liver and with liver disease/NASH I am puzzled why not since it is enlarged. Taking my gall bladder since I have stones and repairing my hiatal hernia. Thanks for any advice! Kathryn
