    What to eat

Protein, Protein, Protein!! I love jerky and some cheese. I also buy a roasted turkey breast and slice it up and then chop it, mix with some buffalo sauce and a touch of Marie's Blue Cheese and eat it that way. Also for crunch Kay's Naturals have lo cal (120) snacks with 12 grams of protein in Chili Nacho flavor. Finally, Caveman foods has great protein bars (18 gr) in great flavors. Bottom line is you got to find what works for you

    What are you drinking?

I drink 80-120 oz of water per day. Bought a thermos smart lid bottle that syncs to my phone so I don't even have to keep track. I also drink 20oz of black coffee in the AM
  3. Believe me Lisa you will be overjoyed! I no longer have hypertension or sleep apnea ( 15 years with a CPAP machine gone!!) have gone from shopping online only 4xl or 5xl to now where a simple XL is bordering on too large. No longer need an airline seatbelt extender, no longer need an aisle seat in a theater just ran a 5k and am registered for a half marathon in Oct and planning a surf trip for summer 2017. Doing more at 64!!
  4. Not to worry, I was in the same boat and was frustrated. Was told to just relax and I did, now 10 months later I'm down 135 lbs. just stick with what you're doing. It's a process, a very, very worthwhile process not an event
  5. Life changing. I constantly feel like I'm floating. Currently down 122 lbs. 8 months out. Training for a half marathon in Oct. regularly run 3-4 miles at a time. Can buy off the rack, fit in airline seats with no extender, comfortable in theater seats, restaurant booths, no more meds of any kind. Sleep Apnea gone, no more CPAP machine. A ton more energy. That's how it feels
  6. LOVE my sleeve 4 months out. Down 87 lbs. no more BP meds, fit into theater seats, jog 2-3 miles 2x per week, swim 1-1.5 miles at least once per week. Am never hungry, energy way up. Hoping to be done with Sleep Apnea soon. Best decision ever!!
  7. Thanks much to everyone for the support and comment. It REALLY a helps to know I'm part of a community on this journey and not living in splendid isolation!
  8. Something that has really come to light for me during this pre op prep is how much food has ruled my life to this point...during breakfast thinking about what to have for lunch and dinner, while running errands thinking about what I'm going to eat when I get home, during a stressful day imagining what I'll eat to relax with afterward, what snacks I need to properly enjoy a sporting event on TV or what to order at the movies. None of these instances was I looking at food as fuel but as a "friend". Now, having made it to day 6 of prep, I find I can do all of these things without needing my "friend". That may be the biggest "get" of this entire process!!
  9. Am 5 days into pre op and am now feeling depressed and scared of all you just said. At the moment, I feel like I'll never again have a normal life, I know better but that's how it feels. It's also hard on my wife who is not doing this and that's making it even harder, even though she's very supportive. Struggling mightily

    Pre Op Liquid Diet

Wow, I had no idea so many shared my feelings. I am on day 5, the first four were a breeze. Today I became sullen and started to second guess myself. A friend who had it a year ago suggested I register and read here. She was so right! Thanks to everyone. I am also a savory rather than a sweet person and I find the Unjury chicken soup really helps. I guess I'm also lucky because I get one 300 cal or less lean cuisine each day as long as I stay below 1100 calories. The last two days clear liquids only frankly I am dreading that.
