    Does it get better?

yes every day get easier. i would say the 1st week after surgery is the toughest. hang in there, the hard part is over. your stomach is still healing. drinking water was one of my big worries, i have a physical job and hydration was a big concern. its been a year since my sleeve and i would say i was able to chug a whole glass of water at around 4 months. just follow the advice of your surgeon and you will be thrilled with the results. the best is yet to come.

    First solid food after surgery?

mashed up meatball with ricotta and sauce. a few small bites, it was delicous.
  3. for the first time in a long time i got on the scale and it said 199 lbs. surgery date was 12-11-15. started at 270 and a little under 5 months i am 70 pounds down and super excited. still more work to be done but loving my decision to go ahead and change my life with sleeve surgery.

    Protein and clear liquids

every day gets a little easier. just keep your Water handy and sip all day. i would say around day 5 i started focusing on my Protein. i like priemere which is sold at costco it needs to be very cold. try different drinks. i loved the vanilla in the beginning, now i can stand it and prefer the chocolate. as far as hair loss goes im 4 months out so far so good. i do keep up with my protein and Vitamins. good luck im loving my decision to get sleeved.

I had my 2-week Post Op check up today!

keep trying different protein shakes, its very tough in the early stages to find things you like and can tolerate. for me it was vanilla premiere shakes it had to be ice cold. now i cant stand vanilla and prefer the chocolate. again the colder the better. i also like cottage cheese and its packed with protein. i am 4 months out and can tolerate pretty much anything. i couldnt say that at 1 month out. its trial and error in the beginning. good luck

    Left shoulder pain while eating?

i have experienced left shoulder pain after eating food that was a little heavier like a meatball or tuna when beganstage three of my diet. i also posted the same question because it was a little worried. others have had the same experience. i am 2 months out and it seemed to go away. i was told by one of my drs that it is very possible it has something to do with the vagus nerve that runs through the stomach and it should go away and sure enough it did. not saying that this is what your pain is but it very well could be.

    1 month post op

every surgeon has a different schedule of progression. i was on regular food after a month with the exception of raw vegetables and nuts. although i could eat whatever i started slow. mashed up meatball with plenty of sauce, turkey chilli was also a good choice. make sure small bites and eat slow. i made the mistake of chicken breast oh boy was that an unpleasant experience.
  9. i knew a had to have a hiatal hernia repair during sleeve surgery. total surgery time sleeve with hernia repair was about 45min to an hr. It is very common for people to have them. as a patient you shouldn't feel anything different its just an extra step for the surgeon. i wouldn't worry about it. you will do great. good luck.

    Approved! Pre op diet ?

yes you should keep taking your blood pressure medication. i took mine the night before surgery. they should provide it for you in the hospital. i did pack it just in case. as for birth control i have no idea we have different parts. I would check with surgeon on both just to be on the safe side. pre op diet for me was just low calorie. i didnt have to do liquids.

    How much is enough

take it slow. i was also able to eat a whole chobani yogurt or an entire italian ice. once i started on purees like a crushed meatball with sauce you will definetly know what full is. some early signs are pressure possibly hiccups.reading in this forum it seems like there are alot of different feelings to what full is. i will tell you this chicken breast for me was a killer. i felt like a had a golf ball stuck in my chest not a pleasant feeling. its strange some things are no problem at all and then others seem to be troublesome. i just have to remind myself take small bites and eat slow, that seems to be the key. its hard when i have always been a fast eater.

    Water

in the early stages small sips every couple of minutes. after a week or so in it will be easier to drink more. i am about six weeks out i drink a full glass of Water in about 5 mins. i really don't feel restrictions with liquids but i dont want to push it.

    Advice from sleepers

vanilla premier Protein pre made shakes worked for me it had to be very cold i would put it in the freezer 20 min before drinking. as far as getting Water in i would mix it with apple or grape juice no sugar added. it definetley made getting my Fluid intake alot easier. it does get easier every passing day.

    I am finally sleeved

good luck it gets alot easier. make sure you get your Protein and fluids in. the first 2 stages of not eating anything solid gets old quick but its only for a couple of weeks. i was sleeved on 12/11 and start my regular diet on 1/6. looking forward to some chicken. in the first couple of days i would mix my Water with no sugar added juice it helped with taste and made getting my Fluid intake in alot easier.
