Great Rant!! I'm always amazed when commenters make snotty rude remarks on this site that is here solely to bring us together. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes!! Not all over but big ones for no reason that take forever to go away. Hmmm? Anyone else? I'm 7 months out and noticed it last month. At 65 my skin does not seem to be as fragile and thin as it used to be but am confused about the bruises. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There is no such thing as an average weight loss. We are all different. Our systems all react differently. For the first few months I was eating 400-500 calories. Not because anyone told me too, just was what I could take in. I followed all my Dr's orders. He was very conservative in going to each stage. I couldn't have salads until 4 months out. I have had no adverse reactions other then losing hair between 4 and 6 months out. At 7 months I'm down 84 pounds. I'm 65. I'm going to the Y 4-5 days a week. I am at 800-1000 cal a day. Aim for 100g of Protein, <50g of carbs and eat full fat cheese. I don't feel like I'm in a diet because I eat a variety of things and don't deprive myself. Eating protein first is a great tool to live by. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's a roller coaster. Stick to your plan and it evens out over time. I use premier Protein shakes from costco. They are 160c and 30g of protein. Most of us do not intake nearly that amount of calories early on. I'm at 7 months and am at 800-1000. I don't think you should have to feel like we should have to feel like we have to work out hard in order to eat. Good luck in your journey!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Over 60 and having the sleeve
SassyNanny replied to ginnylee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Carolyn,I am 69 and had my surgery 3/28/16. Not seeing a lot of us older girls out there. Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App We are out here. I'm 65 and was sleeved on 11:18/15. It been 7 months and I've lost 84 pounds and gone from size 26-28 to a woman's large 18-20. Best decision ever! It's been easy and the cravings in my head have all but stopped. I don't keep a fat free, sugar free, carb free diet. I have a bit of cake at celebrations. Focusing on Protein first has really been the key. I love the variety in my diet and don't feel like I'm deprived at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
What wrong with just putting some rolled oats in the microwave with some Water and add your own spices and sweetener? Or in a pan if you want to go old school. I personally haven't had oatmeal yet at 7 months. It's a carb that has some Protein but not a lot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Does digesting food cause you pain?
SassyNanny replied to ssflbelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree. Eat less. At 5 months I was still at 550-650 calories and could only eat a half a chicken breast at once. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

URGENT--advice needed
SassyNanny replied to Krystenaj's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow. My surgeons office was a hot mess at times too. The surgery went great. My blood pressure was spiking the next day so they kept me another night. I found out later no one called my daughter or my neighbors who were picking me up. Nada. They were very worried and no number to call. Who thought they would need it. Was unfortunate. The confusion before surgery made it no surprise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I am 6 months oug and prefer not to think about it until I have to. Maybe insurance will cover some for you when the time is right. Some people won't need it. Young. Smaller weight loss. Good skin. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What do you eat? Am I eating too much?
SassyNanny replied to Mrs. Lincoln's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I first bought the premier protein bars. One batch had 290 calories and 30g protein and the other kind has 190 cal 15 grams. I wasn't sure I liked the 30 g ones. They are really big and dense. I got used to them. The smaller ones are a better texture to me. Got them online from SAMs Club. I'm not a member but they allowed a one day shopping pass. I was out of town and saw them at a Costco but they weren't in mine. I was visiting my daughter and she picked up Pure Protein bars at her Costco 20g protein 200 cal. They are a bit smaller but really delicious. Very candy bar like. I'm aiming for 100 g of protein a day and a daily Premier Protein drink (Costco) and an occasional bar get me to that number. Hope this helps. -
You are so brave. I have to not think about the skin removal until I need to. Not for another 88 pounds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I agree with Lipstick Lady. I also eat similarly. I do still use premier Protein shakes for most breakfasts and sometimes a 20-30 gram Protein Bar. At 6 months post op I'm losing 10-12 pounds a month. It seems so slow until I see someone who hasn't seen me is a month or two. They are floored. Gives me a wake up call. Are Your Family Members Overweight and Which of Them Supported You?

OMG! I'm so sorry about your husbands decision to leave the planet. I'm glad you and your Chinese Crested Gucci have each other. -
Well eating shrimp and walking on Water isn't enough. Lol. People have kindly answered your request for help with very legitimate questions about your behaviors and tracking. You did not answer. If your idea of tracking is eating shrimps walking and water then you are in for a wake up call. It takes some focusing on the rules. Keeping track of Protein water calories and carbs and finding the delicate balance that works for you. At 3 weeks or so most of us stall. Then we stall again. Again and again. In spite of all that we melt away little by little. I'm 6 months out and the last couple of weeks I've lost a pound a week. Because I track everything know that in the last month I've lost 11 pounds. 72 pounds since Nov. 88 more to go. One day at a time. One bite at a time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Until you are on solid foods you won't know your sleeves capacity. I could eat a cup of puréed soup after surgery. As soon as I started real food no way could I eat that much. Until recently at 5 months I could only eat half of a boneless skinless chicken breast. Now I can eat a whole one if its small. How does your nut expect you to get your protein in if you are eating only a 1/4c at a meal 3 times a day ? They all want us to eat mostly real food and not protein drinks or powders but we can't meet out protein stats without supplementing. Sometimes I wonder if these people actually have degrees.

So what's the deal with fizzy drinks?
SassyNanny replied to MamaRhea's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
By the way. You said you only drink diet sodas when you are out to dinner. I'm not supposed to drink anything 1/2 hour before a meal, during a meal or 1/2 hour after a meal. That is a tough one since most of us are used to having something to drink with every meal. Oh well. Not anymore. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
40 pounds is a huge amount in a month. Your body has a right to feel tired. How many calories, grams of Protein, carbs and Water are you taking in daily. You had a major surgery and are healing. Taking it easy is part of the process. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
