Protein drinks right after surgery.
rking replied to Kspot42's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Geez. I couldn't touch anything but clear liquids for two weeks. No protein shakes till week 3. I know right after surgery it was really tough getting in 30 oz of fluid of any kind. I can't imagine a shake. -
Oh boy! Got me some reading material when I have some down time! Maybe tomorrow on the stationary bike!!!!

I won't eat rice cuz it scares me. I have had two people told me the only time they threw up was with rice. I guess it expands in the stomach and makes you fuller.

Hair loss...does it ever come back?
rking replied to Jengarcia055's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 9 weeks out and losing hair. I am so sad. I started my bariatric vitamins weeks before surgery. I have had several other surgeries and have never lost hair. I stopped taking my hormones when I had surgery and started them again 2 weeks ago. That hasn't helped. I am surprised I am losing hair so early. I am getting 85-100 g of protein daily. Biotin helps with growth. I don't think anything helps with loss except protein. It real really stress me out if it continues. -

Help! I am 3 days post op and I'm struggling!
rking replied to Newlife4nita's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a big advocate for pain meds. There is no reason not to take them. Take as long as you need no reason to hurt and be miserable. I took them several days after I got home. -
Hang in there girl!!!!!!!!!!

rking replied to MIMISAN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So precious! I have always wanted big dogs. Now I have cats. I have had to put down my 18 year old dog and a 15 year old. Don't think I want to get that attached any more however I am super duper attached to my cats. -

Sleeved 11/17/15. Lost 20 lbs month one and 4 lbs month 2. What tha hell is up with that?????? The only thing I am not doing right is getting 64 oz of water a day. Exercising a few times a week. Also losing hair. Sad face. -

I thought i was losing hair at 2 months! It is coming out when I shower. It really concerned me because I have read that it comes out at four months. I guess I am going to take the next step and buy Nixon or something to make it grow back.

i believe dub has schnauzers i will tell you that you will not want a dog or anything else on your stomach for a little while. it will be sore for a few days, then you will want to be careful not to be 'run over' by your furbaby as to not cause damage. laying on you will not cause trouble, just being 'hit' in the stomach could be troublesome. anytime i have had surgery of any kind my dogs always seemed to sense something was going on. they were small and not overly active so i really didnt have much to worry about. golden retrievers are so smart precious animals. -
