I am two weeks post op, feeling great. I have had no pain, gas, or nausea since day one. I am 15 pounds down since surgery date. I am on stage 2, Full liquids. I see my doctor on Aug 6 and hope that he will allow me to move to soft foods a bit early.

I had my surgery on 7/21 in Scottsdale, AZ. Was nervous about the outcome. I made myself get up and walk about an hour and a half after leaving recovery. I can honestly say that I have had no paid. Only mild discomfort around the belly. No nausea or vomiting. I am drinking my fluids and Protein Shakes and enjoying my SF Popsicles. Today is day 4 after my surgery and I am feeling really good. I'm also feeling very fortunate to be doing so well. BTW I am 60 yrs old and surgery weight was 231

Had VSG surgery at 68 y.o. Am now 69 and reached my weight goal 8.5 months post-op. Am now 6 pounds under goal. Feeling, looking, AM just wonderful!
My surgery, recovery, weight loss and now maintenance efforts also were pretty easy.
Just do what you're supposed to do at each phase, each day. The future will take care of itself. It's boring to hear this, but it is not a sprint--it's a marathon run one step at a time. The real truth is that WLS is never done. It just goes on and on.
Us old folks understand that a lot better than the young'uns do.
BTW, there's an "over 65" thread around here you should also check out. Lots of folks in their 60s have had WLS of various kinds and done very well.

I'm jealous of you ladies who get to eat actual food! I'm on my pre-op and it's all liquid.< /p>
