So my surgery is tomorrow at noon!!!! Eek!!! I'm just wanting some suggestions on some thing I should definitely pack and take with me!! Thanks in advance.

Omg get a life! If I'm sending a letter or correspondence I will abide. But if I'm writing without my glasses, upset or spell check takes a flying leap in a wrong direction, please dear God or in your case Godess please forgive this minor sinner.
I have tried to be a positive booster in BP but in this case go teach school and leave us pouring out are dreams, fears, concerns, to us that no longer give a crap on their writing but what they are saying instead.

I have a list as well. On 23 September some of my questions will be:
How will sleep apnea affect my time in the recovery room? Will it affect the surgery?
Some people say their legs or other parts hurt after surgery from being strapped in. Where can I expect soreness or pain after surgery? If I know what to expect I feel I can be better prepared.
Is there a limit to how much I can walk the halls in the hospital after surgery?
I am scheduled for surgery at 8am. If all goes well what time would you expect me to be complete? What time would you expect me to be out of the recovery room? Most importantly since I am the first surgery will I still have to wait until the next day to be able to have Clear liquids? Or is this my punishment for going first lol?
What do I do if I get a headache before and after surgery? Sore Muscles?

Surgery scheduled for the 22nd. Anyone else close to that date? Anyone around Houston ?

I will be having the RNY on the 28th.

@@Knitchic Hello! Congrats on your surgery!
My surgeon and I went into my surgery anticipating that it was going to be laparoscopic. I made sure, on my last visit with him and even the morning of my surgery, that I asked him what the reasons would be that he'd need to open me up instead of doing it laparoscopically, and he gave me his reasons (too much scar tissue, not enough room, etc.).
I also asked when I could expect to have my first BM after surgery and if I'd need a laxative or stool softener of some sort.
I didn't ask a lot of questions outside of those, because the process for me took 6 months and I got almost every questioned answered in that amount of time.
If anything scares you or worries you or you're wondering about something, ask! Even if it seems off the wall or silly, ask it anyways!

September 22 is the start of the new me!

@@Anxious2beme - I'm doing great. my incisions are looking fantastic and I have barely any pain at all. My side is a little sore today because I slept on it last night, but other than that... doing just fine. Thank you for asking!

I just had first surgery appointment last week and I am, like, excited, scared, ooo, back to excited, anxious, blah blah blah. Feel like I am literally feeling 12 different feelings an hour.

It's a really exciting and strange time, I remember it well as it was less than a month ago. Today is my three week surgery anniversary! Time flies, and there are really exiting things coming up for you very soon! Congratulations, and take good care of yourself. All your hard work is going to be worth it.

@@Knitchic I hear you! My surgery is actually the day before yours. This weekend I've been channeling my nervousness into nesting. I did my phase 1 pantry and fridge clean out; chucked everything I didn't think I'd eat in the next two weeks or sometime after surgery. I also did a serious deep clean of my house, moved furniture to sweep and mop behind, ended up rearranging my living room furniture. I figure these are things I'll be glad I did when I'm home for six weeks.
The last few nights I've had a little trouble sleeping and I keep thinking about all the things I want to eat while I still can. When I wake up the next morning I'm fine. It's just those few minutes. Weird.

Bekbek, anyone told you about making the cabbage Soup with all the free veggies you can have? At support group, they say it makes all the difference in the world. Good luck!

When you stop being afraid to put your jeans in the dryer.

When your collar bones come out of hiding

When you can comfortably sit in an airplane seat without needing a seat belt extender

1 step further....... When you can fit comfortably in the rides at amusements parks

When you can fit in a swing at the park.

When you donate clothes that are too big instead of too small

When a regular sized bath towel wraps around you WITHOUT any gaps! That has to be the best feeling. I realized this last night when I got out of the shower.
I even wrapped it past the gap about 7 or 8 inches. HOW FREAKING AMAZING!!!

When you cross your legs under the table or kick your heels up on the dashboard without thinking...

When you actually start to like who you see in the mirror!

When you can easily give yourself a full pedicure.

When you weigh yourself and you can look straight down without BOB (big ole' belly) getting in your line of sight to see the number!
