Hello everyone! I started this journey in an unusual way. I was originally referred to the surgeon for Nissan Fundiplication. I was shocked when he said he didn't want to do the surgery because I was too overweight and I wouldn't get the results I needed for my severe reflux and hernia. He said gastric bypass would be the way to go. I was scared and not interested but after doing research what he said was spot on. I am currently on the second attempt for insurance funding even though the weight loss isn't the primary reason- my insurance policy has an exclusion for bariatric surgery so I may have to self fund.
