Hi Sleevers, I'm now almost 10 weeks out, incredibly slow weight drop 41lbs total loss so far. I keep losing and regaining despite the fact that I eat less than 500 calories daily, exercise, get over 70g of Protein daily and about 80g of liquids. But that's not why i'm posting this. I have a question regarding Soups. Not just liquid, but with some meat and veggies in it. Are we never allowed to consume Soup again because it's considered liquid with solids?

Not loosing weight! Help!
LoosingIt67 replied to svasquez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had VSG on 7/31 to date, a total loss of 30lbs. In fact, two days ago I weighed in at 177. Today, I got on the scale and was 179.7. I walk 5 miles each day, lift weights twice a week (Full body workout, I'm a personal trainer). I get close to 100grams of Protein daily (I still drink one Protein shake a day, otherwise I can't reach the 100g), I get about 600 calories in a day. I shoot for the 100 grams of protein because I am hoping not to lose hair (though I hear that's inevitable at around the 3 months mark). I don't know why I gained, I eat the same things every day, but I did. I am losing slowly, and not sure whether it's because I started out smaller than the average sleever or not. I try not to get discouraged, it's hard, but I keep telling myself, that slower loss is always better than fast: 1- Skin wont sag (though I'm doing whatever I can not to let it, by working out, and the slower loss) 2- And that eventually I'll get to my goal... (119lbs)... -
Go back to the psychiatrist who cleared you, and request a script for Vyvance. It was recently cleared for BED. IT works!

According to the article here, there are foods that need to be avoided by sleevers: http://www.obesityhelp.com/articles/be-aware-of-creepy-calories cheese Peanut Butter coffee “add ins” Yogurt and granola Cereals/Cereal bars/Granola bars pretzels chips Baked goods Sweets puddings I'm a bit astounded by Yogurts. I've been having Yogurt (Fat Free Oikos, plain greek) with a soft boiled egg for Breakfast for the past 2 weeks. I've been losing weight. Since when have greek yogurts become bad calories, my doctor recommends them in his food plan. I also would like to open this topic up to nutrition, what do you eat throughout the day? what do you drink? Do you count calories, fat, carbs and Proteins? Inquiring minds want to know. -Happy Losing!

I have about 5 16.9 oz of Water a day, sometimes a cup of tea, which is around 16oz. My doctor wants me to have 60g of protein a day.

how much are you eating after 1 month?
LoosingIt67 replied to roxy79's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm one month out and here is my typical food intake for the day: I start out with a Premier shake 30g Protein 3-4 hours later, I have 1 soft boiled egg and 3 tbsp's of Fat free cottage cheese, Protein 21g 3-4 hours later, 3 slices of Turkey Breast deli meat Protein 13g Snack: Cheese stick Protein 6g Dinner: 2oz of either steamed chicken or 2oz of fish plus 1/2 of a sweet potato (not really sure what the protein content of this meal) I'm fairly certain that I'm in ketosis at this point. -
Rate Of Weight Loss, Those Starting Under 200 Lb?
LoosingIt67 replied to NothingUpMySleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
On July 31, I weighed in 199lbs, that was my surgery day. I'm 5'4 (Quarter inch shy of 5'5). I gained right after the surgery, though it was gas weight. Today, I'm 183.2. Starting weight was 210. I'm a bit down when I read all the insane amount of weight that people lose practically overnight, while I struggle. The silver lining though, is that when it's slow, the chances of sagging skin is significantly minimized. I eat less than 500 calories a day and that includes 30g of Protein which I get from a vanilla Premier shake. I get a total of 60 to 90g of protein a day. -
I was cleared for ANY pills, capsules, gel caps etc... one month post surgery. I've been off bariatric Vitamins and back on Silver Centrum since 9/1. I couldn't stand taking the baritrak vits (mixed with 8oz of Water downed in 15 minutes), or the chewable ones, they didn't make me sick, they were just disgusting.

Hello Sleevers! Certainly, I'm not the only one. My hunger pangs began approximately one week post op. I know the difference between head hunger and real hunger. And I am telling you, I AM HUNGRY. I eat 3 meals a day, plus two Snacks. I'm losing slowly but losing (after the dreaded 3 week stall). But I feel hungry. It is definitely not head hunger it is real, it is painful and it is there. What do you do to kill that feeling? I read about sleevers who claim to forget to eat, that they're NEVER hungry, and I'm amazed. Is it because I'm only four weeks out that I feel this? Will this go away at some point? Feedback would be sincerely appreciated. -Happy Losing.

BTW Alpha, Sadek/Donaire just now cleared me for working out. I'm surprised you began your exercise régime so early. -
An August 7th Sleever's Journey

Alpha. I'm a patient of Sadek too. Sleeved on 7/31 @ RWJ. -
After reading quite a few topics here I realized that my sleeve is being handled a bit differently. First and foremost, a bit of background. I'm 48, 5'4 with a BMI of 35.3. I'm covered by Cigna. 10 weeks ago was my initial visit with Dr.Sadek, Director of Bariatric surgery at Robert Wood Johnson. It was my orientation. I walked out with a surgery date (7/31) and a list of the doctors that I need clearance for the procedure; a letter of medical necessity from my PCP, along with five years of weight management records, a clearance from a pulmonary dr, gastroenterology clearance, cardiologist ok, & of course a clearance from a nutritionist. Being on a smaller side Cigna requires at least one comorbidity. As it turns out I am pre diabetic, have a mild sleep apnea, & mechanical arthritis. I've undergone an upper gi, a colonoscopy, a nuclear stress test, & an ultrasound of my torso neck and legs. So it seems that I've got enough for an approval. My concern is, that from all the posts that I'm reading here, you all get approved first and then go through the test and only then get a surgery date. In my case, the Bariatric Surgeon will submit my case on the 17th of July. I'm even scheduled for July 17th pre op testing. But I'm very concerned that it won't be enough time for Cigna to approve. Am I the only one who is going through the process kind of backwards?

I guess I am the only one. Disappointing about the lack of responses.
