I have always been "chubby". Since I was a little girl, I remember my mom putting me on a diet with the pediatrician. My family always joked about how I was "un barrilito sin fondo" (spanish for never ending little barrel). It was cute at first, but it didn´t last long. During highschool I was always the heavier girl of my class, but I never really cared much about the jokes, I had a great supporting family, and I never really cared much about my weight because I was always overweight and never obese. In college I started eating more junk food, getting more anxious, eating out, and gaining more and more weight, so I became more self conscious and started dieting, always loosing a lot o weight, and always regaining every single pound and a couple more. It has been like that for the past 10 years. I have done every diet there is; Atkins, South Beach, Paleo, HCG drops, Ear acupuncture... I have tried 2 clinical nutricionists and 2 personal trainers. The last thing I tried was Hight Intensity Interval Training with a personal trainer in a specialized gym + Brazilian Jujitsu for 9 months. This was very effective, I managed to loose almost 40 pounds and feel good! But saddly (this was my luck!) and with almost 20 pounds to go for my goal weight, I had to get a back surgery that restricted my physical mobility for a while, then I had a second surgery and after I recovered, I realized I had gained everything back; 50 pounds and a hopelessness feeling.
That was 1 year ago. Time kept passing by and I didn´t even realized how much weight I was gaining until my family started to get worried and I started to get sick a lot. So I went again to the nutricionist and discovered I was more than 80 pounds overweight and very much obese. I don´t recognize myself in the mirror anymore. My nutrionist told me I qualified for a weightloss surgery (VGS), and I decided to start my journey to finally put an end to this before it is too late.
