Any dinning advice for Disneyland in California?
trekker954 replied to Miss Rachel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would opt for the tuna pouches. Maybe some turkey/cheese roll ups. If they allow you in the park with food. Or leave in cooler in car, good exercise walking back to car for lunch. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
WHO STOLE THE SCALE and other challenges on vacation.
trekker954 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm on vacation in Europe on a river cruise and have been weighing myself every few days on the gym scale (bathroom type). An hour ago I get there and it's missing. Grrrrrr. They say a passenger must have taken it back to their cabin. People can be so inconsiderate. This vacation has been very challenging, mostly due to being bitter cold, (I'm a Floridian) walking great distances (this is a good thing though), and just unable to get nearly enough Water in while bundled up , cold and not thirsty. Probably why I'm stalling rather than losing. I've been strong passing on pastries and bread, carbs in general. I admit to having a piece of Belgium chocolate now and then when placed in front of me. Glad I'm not a fan of Guell wine as they really push it. There are just so many sweets. I can tell I miss Pasta. I've had no trouble saying no thank you to it, but sometimes it's the only thing I like on the menu but I'm good to order a healthier alternative but feel deprived when others are eating pasta. The positive about this, I can bet I would have put on 15 lbs during this 3 week vacation if not more if I hadn't been sleeved 4 months ago. I look so good in my pictures. Anyone else having challenges while on vacation. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -

Post op liquid diet

You may find plain Water difficult to drink. I know it sounds crazy but many will attest. I did have to flavor mine with crystal light or snapple. I also used premiere Protein chocolate drinks. Sip your drinks but do this pretty constantly to get it all in. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
Getting sick with Gastric Sleeve [emoji27]
trekker954 replied to Carolinax96's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If I had a sore throat I'd would stick to Soups and add GENEPRO powder to them. Tylenol cold or Tylenol flu may help. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
According to my NUT you only need the multi. Some use extra supplements. You can put it on overnight and or multiple at the same time. Or you c as n hide it where the sun doesn't shine. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

Being cold is getting old!
trekker954 replied to highfunctioningfatman's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
,I'm from Miami and currently on a Xmas market vacation thru Germany, Austria, Czech rep., and Hungary and it's so cold, freezing, I'm an ice cube. Sure I'm not use to this, nor having fat to insulate me. But even layering up, after 2 hours (mostly we are 4-6 hours walking), my shoulder feel sharp knife stabbing pain. I assume, at 63, it's arthritis I must have as it dissapates once I'm back inside. Guess this will be my last winter vacation. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
Pain after surgery
trekker954 replied to justabitunique's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Follow your doctors orders and walk. Mine was very mild. Some surgeons can get most of the sir out. I has to wait a bit to get unhook from monitors but walked a lot in the halls and honestly I was expecting far worse. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -

Older people doing gastric sleeve
trekker954 replied to stellabella1334's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 16 weeks post op, will be 63 in January. I'm down about 60 lbs since june. I did experience that stall at 3 weeks, but since the weight is just melting off. I've only got about 30 lbs left to goal. I do not go to the gym but do walk and bike but not excessively. I wasn't on any meds so cannot comment on that. I'm not crazy about excess skin but will just learn to live with it at my age. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
Overwhelmingly Concerned About Complications Affecting Work
trekker954 replied to 81Kellogram's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Do everything your surgeon tells you to do. It's your job to get in your Protein and Water. You will have less to no complications once you master your intake requirements. Remember sip, sip, sip your Protein drinks and water. You may have to add flavor to your water in order to get it down. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
So much calf pain after excessive walking and climbing
trekker954 posted a topic in Fitness & Exercise
I'm 3 1/2 months out. 60 lbs down. Doing well, never sick, on top of Vitamins, good blood work. I travel a lot with work and for pleasure. I'll be 63 in January and can't say I exercise a lot. I did increase walking and bike riding but not excessively. Fast forward to arriving in Europe 6 days ago with my adult children for four countries Christmas market and general tours. After 5 days walking Munich, hiking up numerous castles I can barely touch my calves without grinding my teeth in pain. They even hurt to lie flat on my back because my calves hurt so much. We just arrive in Prague today. Tomorrow we have a four hour private walking tour. Should I persirvere or pass. I have no idea if I can do real damage if I push myself or if I'm just not use to using these muscle groups. I stir have 2 weeks to go. I'm just not knowledgeable about these things. So much calf pain after excessive walking and climbing
trekker954 replied to trekker954's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I just hot back from my 4 hour tour. Lots of steps upward and cobblestone paths down. I think the down was more painful as it was steep. But gorgeous however zero degrees celcius. I will never, repeat never take a winter vacation again. My kids were thrilled I made it through. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
Take it slow when trying new things. Mentally know what you can eat and sits well in order to get your required Protein in. Think of it as your job to progress and don't rely too much on shakes. I did find myself eating the same similar meals for a good month, but I was also starting back to work and doing more socializing. Planning is the key to success. I start my day with a scoop of Gene pro every morning. For hot food such as coffee, put it in the bottom of the cup, pour in coffee and stir with a fork Cold food put on top and stir in. Nothing better than k owing you started your day with 30 grams of Protein and 8 ounces if liquid before I'm even out of my PJs. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

It's the 3 week stall, just a reality, learn to live with it, but stay on program. Mine lasted about 8 or 9 days, I didn't lose an ounce e. Then it started up again and has been steady. But you already know about, so why are you venting. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

I purposely booked a flight to Europe on Thanksgiving eve, landing thanksgiving day to avoid any temptation. Although hitting up 5 Munich Christmas markets last night was quite the challenge for a foodie lover. I was up for the challenge and did not succumb to temptation, not one bite. Stop when full, or push on to get required protein in - confused
trekker954 posted a topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Just when you think you've got this whole thing down; I'm stumped. I'm just 13 1/2 weeks post op and so far, this has been going well and I am losing well. Even went on a 4 day cruise on lost a pound. My instructions all along, or maybe I listened in the beginning was to stop when I felt full. I was very cautious of this as I never wanted to not have I ever gotten sick. I do use genepro in my morning coffee. But I try and make sure the remaining protein is from food. I've only recently been told I can add vegetables, but very sparingly. Mostly protein. As I progress to more dense protein, it often fills me quickly. I just noticed today, if I'm not even getting in 3 ounces before I feel full, I won't meet my protein goal. I can't just keep eating chicken and eggs. I'm not a fan of cottage cheese or yogurt. I'm also trying different cuts of beef, lamb and such. My NUT really said to eat only three meals a day. What is more important, stopping when full, or should I push through to eat that last ounce of protein. Or should I have four meals a day, or at least four times, I go for protein. -
I wasn't always a Floridian, but I've been one the past eight years. I don't like the cold but never knew how much until now. I'm sure shedding 60+ pounds of fat since mid July is part of the reason I'm so cold all of the time. As I sit here in a Mexico City hotel, low 50s outside for a high, cloudy, gloomy, everyone looks bundled up; I didn't go out today. I'm chilled to the bone. And this time next week, (actually four days) I'll be at the start of the Christmas Market 3 week vacation four countries in Europe. What was I thinking???? I'm sure I have the right clothing, but I do not think I am going to enjoy this as much as I thought. And my daughter is hoping for snow..... yikes!!! Anyone else notice how temperatures are affecting them now that we are slimming down?

I tried Enlightened broad Beans crisp, garlic and onion. Not bad for that crispy need. I really could only eat about 1/3 to a 1/2 at one time. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

PatchMD Vitamin Patches
trekker954 replied to VSG_Brandnewkindame's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes all you need is the muti. I overbought on Vitamins as other things were listed in my handbook. Ugh. I had also bought the vit b12 for energy and use that although my nut said the multi was sufficient. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
