Forrest Park is an amazing hospital. Very up to date, and the staff was fantastic! -

Dr. Frenzel Arlington/Dallas

I used Dr Frenzel. Great surgeon, great bedside manner. His office staff, not so much! -

Sleep study/cpap/surgery ?
AmbulanceDude replied to HopeandAgony's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think it's important because all of the medication they give you for surgery can affect your breathing. Most opiate narcotics cause respiratory depression, then if you add in sleep apnea, it becomes very dangerous. -
How long off work did you have?
AmbulanceDude replied to Melbournegirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was off two weeks. I too have an office job, but sometimes jump on an ambulance. My doctor made me take two weeks off. Wouldn't sign my release until then. I still can't work on an ambulance for another 3 weeks though. Maybe the temperature will be much cooler then! -
Have you added a medical bracelet to your life
AmbulanceDude replied to lmm300missouri's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A NG tube in the case of emergencies is to suction gastric contents. I put them in routinely, and seriously see no issues with putting it in on a sleeved patient. I will research it, and ask a few ER doctors their thoughts about it. -

Going out to eat
AmbulanceDude replied to confusedgirl18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 17 days post op, and I am sitting at my desk having creamy broccoli soup as we speak. Just take it slow, and be like the beer commercials used to say " Know when to say when". -

Versed also has some amnesia properties to it. I am a paramedic, and we give it for seizures.
