I totally know how you feel. I've been having warning cramps of my impending period and my surgery is scheduled for Monday. I could very well be in the same situation only I have no way of knowing when my period will come because I haven't had my period return since I weaned my baby so it's all a guess, but nice to know I shouldn't worry about cancelling if it does come. It is really stressing me out!

Don't fast unless you are given the instructions to do so as you can actually screw up your results doing that. My surgeon only required a basic panel of tests and I didn't have to fast or pee in a cup so I was a happy camper.

Surgery was this morninng. Was canceled half way though.

That is so scary! I hope it turns out to be nothing serious and they can get you rescheduled for surgery soon! -
How did you all set your goal weight?
Sajijoma replied to melps's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
There is also the issue of "vanity sizing" at play here. Right now, I'm about 20-25 lbs heavier than I was in high school... but I am wearing the same pants size that I did then, 8. Now, I know that I'm bigger than I was then. Today's size 8 is a lot bigger than a size 8 was in 1995. it's so true! Yesterday, I was going through my old clothes from college days and I had a dress I wore ALOT when I was around 200lbs. It was my go to dress for snagging a guy LOL. It was TINY looking so I had my daughter try it on for fun. She wears a 12 in women's usually and she fit it perfectly! The tag however said 22/24!! No wonder I felt like a big fat hippo, even when I wasn't! I looked at her and thought to myself "and you couldn't even be happy at her size!" Was a real eye opener. My weight problem has never been my weight, but more my continuously beating myself up about my weight. It's like when the people making fun of me and ridiculing stopped, I just kept going. -
Here is a fun topic, we can kind of go back in time and see where we were; Last Meal
Sajijoma replied to winklie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not having a last meal before my surgery. I don't want to think of it as some forbidden zone that I must go enjoy whatever one last time. It's just what it is, the next step in my progress. I've already cleaned up my diet so much and worked so hard, why would I want to revisit what damaged me to begin with? Most things will probably come back in some form a year or two years down the road like steak or sushi...it'll be definitely changed, maybe not quite the same, but no farewells. Except for soda. I said my farewell to that forever on July 4th. -
Congratulations ladies! It's so exciting! I realized today is the last Monday I will be doing my normal routine! Next Monday is surgery day!!!!

My pre op appt was today and it was so super simple! I had to answer a bunch of health questions, temp, height and weight, bp, an EKG which lasted less than 5 mins, then they took a basic blood panel and CBC and that was it! I'm done and ready to go til the night before. Then the "fun" begins! ????????????????????????

Anyone having surgery in November?
Sajijoma replied to sunstorm14760's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the same date! Yay! It won't be that long! on vitamins, I went with the Bariatric advantage chewable French vanilla for immediately post op and then I got the pill form for later in the month when it's OK to take pills again. The French vanilla are pretty good. They taste like cake mix before you add the eggs and water. -
JP Drain fell from stomach into pelvis
Sajijoma replied to funkecoldmedina's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Oh how scary! I'm glad you caught it! Now I've got something else to fear post op. lol I actually scheduled my appt to get the drain removed already! lol 10 days after my surgery in 10 days! ???? -
Did you call your surgeon yet? I hope you are ok! Definitely isn't a good sign to be running a fever that high post op.

Pre op done today and turns out I don't have a pre op diet at all! He said that studies have shown the liquid diets don't really help that much and it's more torture for no reason. He said if he had a 600lb patient maybe he would do it, but I'm in the range of it not being necessary. He says that all Bariatric surgeons in the US will be phasing it out over the next few years probably so good news to those with a 6 month wait! So I only have liquids the night before surgery and 1 bottle of magnesium citrate to clean out the ole bowels til then just keep on doing what I'm doing!

I know my packet was just sent to insurance Monday, but OMG I was hoping to be one of those lucky bastards who heard back within 24-48hrs! I'm going crazy thinking about it, but I'm trying so hard not to be one of those people who speed dials the insurance company everyday, but I want to be one of those people so bad! lol please someone put me out of my misery! I can't wait to get rid of this fat body!!!

OMG how in the hell do people drink this?!?
Sajijoma replied to Sajijoma's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I really enjoy the syntrax nectars over crushed like snow cone ice. I can't take a big drink or it hits my eject button and spews out, but if I sip it(like I'm suppose to eventually anyway) it's actually very pleasant and not a chore like the premier protein. I got some Matrixx samples recently too. I think the names like peanut butter cookie and chocolate cake lured me it! ???? I haven't tried them yet though. -
@@Joymarie333 congratulations! Do you have your date?

Sajijoma replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'll probably be on my pre op diet-find out what it is Friday so no candy and junk for me. I'll take the kids around the neighborhood and dad can eat my candy tax for taking them! ???? -

Tasty Calcium Citrate Chewable
Sajijoma replied to MeMe8264's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I like the BA chewy bites 500 in caramel. They remind me of those chunks of caramel used to make candy apples. I haven't tried the lemon. Anything to compare it to? -
Anyone having surgery in November?
Sajijoma replied to sunstorm14760's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my surgeon also does surgeries for Kaiser in Denver. I wonder if that means there's a chance I won't have a liquid diet too? What's it like? Just super low carb and sugar free? -

Sajijoma replied to dandylion_23's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Good luck! I got my date today! Nov. 9th! Just when I completely gave up thinking about it, it happened! So glad I didn't have as long a wait between approval and scheduling! I'm sure it's very nerve wracking! -
@@Mountaingal yeah I've been waiting with anticipation for so long! I can't believe I finally have my date! What's really creepy is auto correct on my phone just changed date to fate! That was eerie!

. Yeah... Do you have to do a pre-op diet I'm sure I will, but they haven't told me what it is yet. I imagine they'll tell me about it at the appt on Fri.
