Hey Dekonte- Not familiar with those doctors. I'm in Decatur/work in Norcross but my doc is in Alabama! There are plenty of folks buzzing around here though who have gone to doctors in Atlanta. Good luck!

Hey there-I haven't forgotten about this thread! I live in Decatur. I'm within walking distance of Dekalb Medical Center but I went with a doctor in Alabama b/c I was self pay and it was cheaper. I won't lie and say I'm not a little irked to be driving 2 hours both ways on Monday to get my first fill...when I drive past DMC every day of my life! Oh well...it's still worth it. Also-wasn't today beautiful outside? I wish we had MANY days of weather like this, instead of going from one extreme to the other.

Roommate saw I was on Lapbandtalk.com...Came to my room to tell me it's wrong!

A quick STFU and closing your door ought to do the trick. I would not and do not tolerate anyone telling me how to live my life...especially when it's unsolicited advice. -
Sari43 you are doing great! Don't be discouraged. Slow and steady wins the race...remember. :blushing:

Hey everyone! What a crazy week of weather. I want to start walking on my lunch break at work but I swear one day it's fine, the next it's crazy...makes it hard to stay motivated!! I go for my first fill on March 17th. I'm looking forward to some restriction.

It might help if you specified what part of Georgia you are looking for a doctor. Atlanta area? South Georgia? Middle?
-
I have no clue if they put a tube down my throat. The thought of it wasn't a pleasant one so I just didn't ask!
-
Did anyone watch tonight? They had a lap-band patient. I am usually squeamish watching surgeries but I watched the entire segment. I loved that Dr. Garth explained step by step what he was doing.

My doc suggested papaya for nausea after surgery. I ate a few papaya vitamins and they did seem to help.

Digestive issues post-op

Hey NewGal! Dr. Freeman is my surgeon as well. I think our bodies are definitely still adjusting. I wouldn't be that concerned with the big D for right now. It's an adjustment phase. -
Don't freak out. I'm three weeks post op and two of my incisions are nearly invisible.
-
I can't see your picture Jill. I'm glad someone finally posted though. I thought my picture scared everyone away. :cursing:

LOL, I wish that were my dog. That's UGA, my college football mascot. :biggrin2: My parents have a chocolate lab, who is awesome.

Yum! I had tilipia over the weekend with a baked potato and a little sour cream to make the potato mushier. Delicious.

I went back to work after a week and a half and I think I could have used a few more days. I think it's doable after a few days if you have a desk job, but not recommended. I wouldn't recommend going back while you are still on liquids. It sucked having to smell all the food my co-workers were eating at their desks while I was still sipping on chicken broth.

I think this is my biggest concern. :cheers2:

Aww bless! I hope your recovery time is quick, despite the hiccup. -
I didn't have to crush any of my meds. My pain pills were big honkers too but they went down fine.

How about that Valentine's Day Liquid Diet???
ugagirl replied to minock's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ugh. Valentine's was my first day on mushies which should have been great, but I was soooooo nauseous all day. It didn't help that we had red velvet cake and cupcakes everywhere. All of it made me sick to even think about! Thankfully that all passed the next day! -
Congrats viridescence! Are you back in Georgia? If so how was the flight?
-
I remember them transfering me to the OR table but I wasn't on any bean bag type thing...if they used it, they put it in place after I was knocked out. All I can say is I'm glad I didn't see the way we're positioned during surgery beforehand.

Hey everyone, how's it going? Candy-I went to Taco Bell tonight and got the pintos and cheese. Yum! The lady at the drive-thru asked me 3x if that was all I wanted. Um...yes! I love only spending $0.95 on dinner. :biggrin2:

That is amazing!
-
Good luck! Get a good nights rest.

Ugh...anyhoo here I am the night before surgery. Can't wait to have some decent after pictures!
