Hi all! I am nearing the 11 month mark and am 103 lbs down. I hit a 2 1/2 month stall around month 7 which was really frustrating. I was hoping to be down a lot further at the year mark and I am getting close. Don't get me wrong, I am extremely proud of what I have accomplished so far, but I am just hoping for some stories from those who have been there to help me stay positive. My goal weight that was set at surgery would mean I need to lose another 70, but I would really like to reach the 200 lb down mark. So, for those who have been there, how much did you continue to lose after the year mark?

How much did you lose after the year mark?

How much did you lose after the year mark?
TXTinana replied to TXTinana's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks everyone for the feedback. I kinda knew the answer too but as I said, I guess I was just looking for a little reassurance that the 12 month mark is not the end all and be all. I knew 18 months was the number given to me, I guess I was just getting down on myself with that stall. -
3 Years post op...........How did it go by so fast!
TXTinana replied to Beach Lover's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations on your success! I am wondering if you might tell me how much you lost in the first year and then after the year mark. I am nearing the year mark with at least 70 more that I want to lose (and my secret goal of losing another 90 lol) but I guess I am just worried that after I reach that dreaded year mark this may be unattainable. I am incorporating more exercise now and making sure I stick to a low-carb lifestyle. I just want to know there is hope after I got so discouraged here recently during a 2 1/2 month stall. Again, congratulations...you have done wonderful!!! -
I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)

I have just hit 103 lbs down and am about 10 1/2 months out. I feel like I have been a slow loser compared to a lot of folks but mainly because I had a 2 1/2 month stall around the 7 month mark and just started losing again. I was hoping to further down with being this close to being a year out, but I am still incredibly proud of my progress so far and beyond thankful for the opportunity to receive this tool. Here was a face to face transformation at the 90 lb down mark: And here is a side by side from the morning of my surgery to my 100 lb down mark wearing the same exact shirt. It's amazing how much longer the shirt looks when it isn't stretched over that tummy! -

Feeling full / eating to much
TXTinana replied to volsfan82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have reached my point and mainly because I had trouble learning how to slow my eating and then it would hit me like all of a sudden. I've never thrown up but mine when I got too full was like I could feel the food in my chest and it HURT! My recommendation would be to take a small bite then sit your spoon/fork down and take a minute before your next bite. It seems difficult at first, but it's worth it to not overdo it. -
Will I ever be able to eat Pizza again?
TXTinana replied to ThickFit504's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am just a little over 2 months out and have had pizza, basically because it was the only thing served, but I didn't even try to touch regular hand tossed crust. I opted for a small thin crust slice and even then basically ended up just eating the toppings. -
For the ladies....Was your cycle messed up after surgery?
TXTinana replied to sarah1732's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 2 months out. I started the week following surgery which was about a week and a half early. The next two months have been like clockwork from that first pre-surgery one. -
chewable vitamins/vs patch
TXTinana replied to sbg224's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am also interested in the responses. I have not seen Patches anywhere. -
I was off of pureed by week 3 and was able to have soft textures. I also went to a sushi restaurant in my 3rd week. It really depends on what you are going to have. Better to go the sashimi route and watch out for the rice. My doc had no problem with it.

How much are you able to eat 1 month out?
TXTinana replied to samskiles's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Only down 24 lbs? ONLY? That's an accomplishment in and of itself. That is something to be proud of and obviously it already is working. It sounds like y'all may just be experiencing the dreaded "3 week stall" I just got over mine and today marks 4 weeks past surgery (23 lbs down) and the scale finally dropped 3 lbs as if over night. Don't beat yourself up. 24 lbs in a month is successful. -
At the 3 week mark I found myself up 2 lbs and the scale just stayed there for a couple days. I got frustrated but I remembered everything I had read on here about the stall and distanced myself from the scale. Today marks 4 weeks since surgery so I decided to get back on. I lost the 2 I put back on and then another 3. Just stick with your plan and everything will fall into place. Don't beat yourself up about it.

4 weeks post-op, almost 1/2 way to goal
TXTinana replied to Margie122's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yay Margie! I am excited for you!!! I too, today, am riding my 4 week high. I am down 23 since surgery on the 17th, but still got a ways to go. Keep it up!!! -
Not loosing weight! Help!
TXTinana replied to svasquez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank goodness I had read about the stall before I actually got to it because I too would be freaking out now. I started my pre-op diet at the end of July until my surgery on August 17th, I had lost 16 lbs. Since surgery I have lost exactly 20 lbs, but I have been stuck at 20 down for almost a week now and what do you know, I just passed the 3 week mark. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that it is going to pass soon and will keep pushing forward. -
Cooking for others after VSG
TXTinana replied to RetroGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 17 days out and my husband asked me yesterday to give him a date when he can expect me to start cooking again haha. Poor thing, he's tired of frozen dinners and sandwiches. I told him if he would take it upon himself to cook it wouldn't be a problem. I told him I would start cooking again next week. -
How long did you wait to return to work?
TXTinana replied to Gemini0621's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took one week off and went back feeling fine. The first day I was kind of just going through the motions with no energy, but come the second day and from then on it has been back to business as usual.
