I had Dr Joya do me and my daughter lapband back in Aug 3 2004. We had very easy time getting down there and being picked up by Nathalie who speaks very good english. She is very helpful and stayed with my husband for awhile when we were both down for surgery. Dr Joya staff is very good at what they do. They have more experiance than any US doctor and if I had to do it again I would us him.

I had Kitty fill my band last Monday and she did a fine job. One of my daughters band port is near her navel and with the weight loss has flipped over. They managed to turn it enough to get a fill in it. I do not know if she has ever puntured a line I did not think to ask. You can call and ask her if you like.

after two year with the band I find that almost all breads are out except crakers.Don't get me wrong I have never been a fan of bread. I have never liked toast or a sandwich so no big lost to me. I have a real hard time with pasta and chicken breast, dark meat I can eat and most beef like prime rib is okay. I can eat pouched or soft boiled eggs and soup. Bev

I went down to Arlington today for a fill with a nurse who does fills and her name is Kitty. She did a fine job on the fill. I liked her very much and her and her assistant were very nice. It sure bets going all the way to Tacoma but I do like my doctors at the SWLC.

Hi I was band Aug 2004 and have lost 100 lbs and loving it. Nice to see so many that have. It really works.

I was banded in aug of 2004 by Dr Joya in PT and Dr fox has been doing my fill since I got back. He charges 495.00 for the 1st and 195.00 for each one afterwards. He has been doing bands from all over the world since 1985 so when he does them blind he has had lots of practice. He is not a newbe at this. It is a long way to drive for us because we live in Bellingham and it is a all day thing for us to have our bands tighten. My daughters and I have our really thankful that the band is around because I was to scared to do the bypass. One of my daughters and I had it done by Dr Joya in PT and my second daughter had it done in TJ last June. I have lost 100 lbs and so has the daughter that went with me. It sure changes your life and I am doing things I lost because of the weight. I too am at a stand still but I am glad for what weight has come off.

My daughter was banded by Dr. Huacus last June and the only thing that went wrong was that she developed a water pouch over her port site. When we got her home it began to drain on its own and her doctor here told her as long as it was clear and not smelly she was fine. We had the band placed a the Molding Clinic which I don't recommend to anyone. I know many people liked Andres but he was rude to us and would not get Dr Huacuz when my daughter was vomiting. Dr Huacuz always visits his patience and he gave her a shot and he stayed with her until she stopped. I liked him alot.Like other people he show us the band and we signed the package and he took pictures of it so we know that we got the Iname band. I had my band done by a Dr Joya in PV mexico in aug of 2004. I have lost 100lbs and have 60 to go and it has changed my life.

A fill is when they but liquid in you port to tighten your band. The Lapband is adjustable and the port is under your skin. It could be up by a rib or down on top of your navel. Mine is by my rib and I have never been numb to put fluid in but my daughter who has it by her navel was numb up. Bev

Hi Jodie My daughters and I live here in Bellingham too. I saw some where here where they meet every 2 Wed of the month at the Mall but I do not know at what time. We would like to go and met and make a support group. How has thing being going since the surgery? Bev

You are going to find that with each fill things will be different. I found that the first 2 fill I had only brief restrictions but now that I have had 4 I really notice the difference. I have to eat much slower and I still get thing stuck and it hurts a little to pass them. This is the first time I have PB a lot but I live with it and I have learned to chew chew chew. I can't eat bread or biscuits unless I make sure they are real waterly in my mouth. I have never been fond of bread so I really don't miss anything. Bev

My daughter has the same problem. she has a more touchy stomach than I do.Some times after a fill she will dry heav for a day. When she first had the band put on she had gas problem and I don't think it will change much. I just now that is lesson after a few days. She has always had stomach trouble but she is now down 105 lbs in a year and she for the first time likes herself. So she tells me this gas problem is will worth it.

This is what our doc does. He ask how we are consuming food first. I can not eat in the morning but I do drink my protien drink. By noon I can eat soup or a little food and by dinner I can eat a small salad with soft meat. Then he will give a small amount of fluid in the band and we have to sit there and drink 2 small glass of water. If it goes down in 20 minutes than we can leave but if we Pb than he takes some out or if we cough like we are having water going down the wrong pipe he takes some out. Than for 2 days we are on liquids again. This way we are not over filled. I am down 100lbs in 1 year and I feel great

Hi My daugther and I were banded last year 8-3-04. Than my other daughter was banded 6-8-05. All were done in Mexico. Two of us in PV and one in TJ. We all live in Bellingham and would like to meet with the bandters and have that support. Bev
