Just got my approval and surgery date
tinkerrbell1 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today I received my approval from my insurance company (it took only 3 days to get my approval) and my surgery date is next Friday October 2, 2015. I am so excited. Is there anyone else out there with an upcoming surgery date? If so let's take this journey together. I will be sure to take before and after pictures along the way. -

Congrats, walk, walk, walk get that gas moving and you will feel better before you know it. I was sleeved a week ago Friday. No pain and the gas pain was that bad there because I walked every hour for 10 minutes. I even went back to work on Monday (only took the day of surgery off of work). -

Yes start walking every hour for 5 to 10 minutes -
I went to my post op appointment yesterday and I may doctor asked me if I was feeling bloated. I told him "YES" and he said it is due to gas aka air in my colon. The best thing I could do is walk to get rid of it.

You'll do just fine. Just make sure you get up and walk every hour and every 3 hours during the night, walk for 5-10 minutes each time. This will help with the gas pains and if you shrug your should from front to back and back to front it will help with the should pain. Also make sure you take 10 deep breathes every hour

Two days post op surgery Friday Oct 2
tinkerrbell1 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am two days post op from being sleeved and I am feeling great. Very little pain, the only pain that I experienced was chest pain do to having a hernia repaired in my stomach. Also I have small throat so they went to put the tract down my throat the first is was to big. So I end up losing my voice and it's finally coming back. I think with me following my doctors orders by getting up and walking every hour helped to a speedy recovery. -
