What does everyone say at social events, dinners etc when you aren't eating? I have told my Mum & a couple of close friends only.

Happy birthday and congrats on your op! You will be fine and look back on this day in 6 months time (when you're back eating solids) and laugh!

I've found this thread really helpful, I have my date booked however I still have so many questions, like can I still champagne with my friends etc. sounds like I can but only after about 2 months.

Hi, I had my first consult today so all going well I'll have my sleeve done next June (I have a 12 month wait for my health insurance). I have told my Mum & a couple of friends only, one friend is super supportive but I can tell my Mum & my other friend aren't for me having the procedure. I need some advice on what to tell people, particularly my co-workers as id love to not have to tell people and have a cover story for why I'm not eating etc. What are everyone else's thoughts. What have people told others?
