My band flipped and I had to have it turned over one month after the original surg. I had no idea it was flipped until I went in for my surgical check up....

my confession is that I throw up at least once a day if not more....My band is not too tight, i think my body is used to throwing up....don't worry i have talked to my surgeon...just telling....

you should not have any solids on a fill day...only liquids for 24 hours....every dr is different, but this rings true......

Hello David ! Do you have the band in place yet ? I wish you the best possible...I too had medical problems (3) and losing the weight kept me off of meds !!

So very sorry to hear you are having trouble ! My banding has been ok. I went for my first fill and found that the port had flipped, so I had to have surg again one month after the original surg....LOTS of pain.....the only other things I have had is vomit if my band wont allow foods....I personally would never try rice...it expands to easily. The only other foods I have found to be bad are dry hamburger pattie and scrambled eggs....I bring it up every time I try it...Take care and I wish you the best.

Hi Ann...I had the first surg on 12/27...i went in for my 6 wk checkup and possible fill. They could not fill me because my port had flipped...i thought something was up because I had pain (constant) pain in the port site. I had the surg to flip the port 2/12 and I am still healing from that. Going thru the same muscle twice is not such a good thing. I hope you do well on your first fill !

I was banded on Dec. 27th, 07. I have heard NOTHING about lettuce or salad eating.....can we ? Thank you so much for your time and I hope everyone is doing well with their band ! P.S. I cannot eat solids for another week, but craving a salad....

Hello, My name is Leslie....I was banded on December 27th. I was banded in Bismarck, ND by Dr. Schmitt. The surgeon and staff there are awesome and seem to know all the answers to my questions. I have lost 31 pounds and it has seemed to just fall off. I do have hungry times, but I can stop it with a lil something....I am able to eat regular foods coming up Jan.17, but I am sooo nervous about it, so not sure what I will do.....I wish everyone well in their surgery ! I love this site too !!!:eek:

My surgeon said I had to take 2 adkins drinks,4 oz meat and one cup of any veg (no peas or corn) everyday prior surgery. This was a nice way to shrink the liver because I have been on liquids since...19 days.....Good luck, it does work !

Banded Dec.27th.....

Holding out for the birthday is fine...just dont let ur heart get anymore involved than it already is.....hard to do, but Cheaters are horrible people to be involved with.....I wish you well !

Once a cheater always a cheater....keep that in mind ! I know from experience and other friends experience....He is using you and you dont need it !

I have BCBS and they covered me 100%, but I had to submit a 5 yr history and get the surgeon to write the reccomendation to BCBS. I called my insurance company myself before even seeing a dr about it though. I just called and asked if it were covered and what the exceptions were....sorry you are having bad luck with yours. I hear BCBS of Texas is the WORST !

Hello again.... I was banded on Dec. 27th. My healing has seemed to be going well, but now I am having some heat at the port site ? Anyone know if this is a bad thing, or is it just a healing thing ? Thank you in advance !:smile:

Wow ! I had my band on Dec. 27th, 07. I have followed the diet to the mark ! I was told that the band and my stomach needed to heal on the inside. Basically saying that the dr wanted my stomach to not "work" to digest, thus the liquid diet....I am doing great and not feeling hungry or sick, and have followed the diet exactly as they said !?
