Hi there!  I have been working towards Gastric Bypass Surgery since December 2014 and I have finally approved for surgery on August 19.  It has been a tough year so far getting to this point.  I started out at 394 lbs and felt much older than my 40 years.  Luckily, I didn't have any co-morbidity issues, but I was in pain almost all the time.  My feet hurt, my back hurt, my feet and legs swelled, I was always tired and depressed, with no energy to do anything but sit on the couch and watch TV.  I am really good at hiding my pain, both physical and emotional, from those closest to me, but I made the decision that I needed to change my life, my attitude and my future.  I did it for my family, but I did it for myself as well.  I feel selfish sometimes, but I have to get over it.  The reason I am on this website is that I need a community of people that understand where I have been and where I am going.  My family is supportive, but most have never dealt with weight issues.  I am struggling with emotional eating, stress eating, and anxiety about all the changes happening.  Hopefully, this forum will help me work through this and be successful with these changes in my life.
