December 2015 or January 2016 sleevers ?
cindyw41 replied to neequa25's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon had it all laid out for me. Each month highlighted with appointments and test that needed done. Makes it nice to see what I have left. (Which is 3 diet classes, 1 nut visit and my last visit with the physiologist) My insurance info will be submitted on Dec 1st ???????? -
The only pain I had with my gallbladder being removed was the gas from the laparoscopy.

How long was ur process?
cindyw41 replied to nomorequitting's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My first appointment was in June 2015 and surgery will hopefully be in January. Dr requires a 7 month program. -
I've been told that having the hernia increases your chances of the insurance approving the procedure (I have one too)

In a time crunch
cindyw41 replied to crazysexycool93's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The end of your 6 months will be Dec right? That puts your possible surgery right around the holidays. If your surgeons office is on the ball it can be done. Providing your insurance gives you a super fast approval. Realistically surgery will be in January. Sorry. -
His practice my require you to lose the 10% to prove your dedication to eating healthy and changing your lifestyle before they move you to the next step. All doctors are different and the programs vary. My doctor requires more than the insurance does and if you don't complete his plan they will deny doing the procedure.

Bmi falls below requirement for sleeve during supervised diet
cindyw41 replied to baileyj908's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All insurances are different but my doctor office uses my initial weight. I know that other conditions can qualify you at a lower BMI (high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, pcos, copd..just to name a few) I would call your insurance and ask them directly. -

Sugar free, carbonation free drinks
cindyw41 replied to Tssiemer1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love lemon water but if I didn't I would bring my own drink and ask for a glass of ice. My favorite flavored water is sparkling ice. -
In true definition it is a fast but I can see what Sleevie is saying. Just keep In focus what this 14 day phase is doing. I'm thinking about putting my mind on making something, crochet, Quilt, holiday gifts...something to help with the boredom.

My husband won't go with me to any of my appointments either. I took my daughter to the orientation (she's 19). In a way it's been better for me to do this somewhat alone. It's hard for someone not going through this to understand and I know he loves me. Keep strong dear..we will do this

Does your bariatric surgeon have you lined up with a Nut? I have learned so much taking with her about what kind of food to eat after the 6 week post surgery diet. The good thing about the 7 month supervised diet that I'm on is that I'm already putting those things into action. Do a lot of research and ask your doctor a lot of questions. Especially with the post surgery diet and required supplements. Join a support group. If you haven't already find an exercise partner. Hopefully your doctor has recommended some Protein for the 6 weeks post-op, unjury is good and I love the Premier Protein chocolate It sounds like you've been through a lot so best wishes for you on this next phase of your journey

How exciting (not the pain part ????). Glad you are better and I am hoping my next 3-4 months go by fast.

Horrified! Labs came back
cindyw41 replied to Tssiemer1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Does it say positive or a volume result? Edited to say:: if the levels are so low that it won't show up on your clients results then its a negative test. -
I got rid of all of my summer clothes and it felt good. Knowing that by next summer I will be a lot smaller. I too had several sizes of jeans that will get me through winter into early spring. Looks like I'll just need to buy shirts oh I can't wait.

Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Batwings
cindyw41 replied to Bariatricbro's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think this is what scares me the most about losing the weight. I noticed stretch marks on my arm this morning and thought oh great..bingo wings in the making -
And there's my monkey wrench.... Endoscopy issue
cindyw41 replied to Mom26's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh...have you had severe heart burn or pain from all of the ulcers? I had severe heart burn last year. It made me think it was my heart and I was having a heart attack. Luckily it wasn't. My endo showed I have a hiatal hernia and Gastritis so they also did a biopsy to test for the bacteria. Hoping to get the results soon. Tomorrow will be one week. -
I know a lot of people do it but the thought of jumping to the surgery without some sort of supervised diet scares the crap out of me. I have learned so much and feel mentally prepared for how drastic my life is about to change. (I'm in month 4 of 7) Really truly think about this..gaining 10 lbs will be that much more to lose.

I just started a new one . nume2016

By this time you are already approved and the insurance company should know the bariatric routine. Keep in mind that the liquid diet phase is to reduce the fat on your liver so the doctor can have access to your stomach. I'd hate more if I got there on surgery day and they have to postpone because I didn't lose enough.

Question about protein drinks
cindyw41 replied to newmebithebypass's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It may be her way of making sure you get the needed protein so you don't loose lean muscle. My doctor will have me monitor my protein intake the first 6 weeks. If I have to supplement my regular food with protein shakes I will -
If you're in public put a pack of baby wipes in your purse. I tend to find them easier to use. At home would it be easier to rinse off in a shower or something?

At this point (as much sugar that is in them) they would probably make you feel sick. Hang In there

Broke my Pre-Op Diet
cindyw41 replied to septsleeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A chicken breast isn't going to put off surgery and will be completely through your system before then. The main focus during the pre-opt liquid diet is the reduce the fat on your liver. I've heard of some losing 15-20lbs during this phase. Don't beat yourself up over a chicken breast pre-op. Do however be mindful that after surgery the liquid phase is a whole other ball game
