Concern about WLS and my fat cat!
cindyw41 replied to animallover1247's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i also thought you were talking about the "downstairs" LOL!! I have asked that question but NO ONE WILL ANSWER ME!!! How does it end up? I mean if your cat is fat and you lose weight, does it hang? Will you need a "cat lift"? They even have a term for it FUPA..just reading up on it myself. Look that up to see things that can help ???? -
Concern about WLS and my fat cat!
cindyw41 replied to animallover1247's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
He looks so sweet I have cats but I love dogs too hence the animallover1247. I understand, my cat is attached to me as well, can't even go to the bathroom without him following me! I have to run to the BR if I want peace and when I escape and manage to have a few minutes of private time..I see little white paws trying to open the door. They truly are the best therapy. -

Your visit isn't too far off so you won't gain enough to get you BMI to 40 by then. Do your research on your benefits. Call multiple times and ask the same questions. Oddly not everyone will tell you everything you need to know. Your surgical team should also know how to work the insurance game. Ask the coordinator if they know what you need to do/be to qualify. Good luck

cindyw41 replied to Lissa81's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on month 5 of a 7 month monitored pre-op diet. I'll be on a 2 week full liquid diet prior to surgery. This is all required as part of my surgeons program. -
Time off work? One week? More?
cindyw41 replied to itstimealready's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor has a no driving for two weeks restriction. I am having a hernia repair as well. So I'm thinking the 2 weeks for sure. Not to mention everything we have to get used to. The 3 food stages can be difficult if you don't have access to a kitchen. -

Are you allergic to Soy or Whey? It sounds like a intolerance to something. You may want to ask your nut or Doctor what they recommend to the patients with allergies.

My wedding rings during surgery
cindyw41 replied to forrealthistime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You could always set them in a new setting all together. I have a couple of rings that I want to do that with. A jewelry store should have a designer or know one to direct you to. -
What are your liquid diet foods? I was glad to hear that mine includes creamed soups and yogurt. Interested to see what others are allowed.
