The bypass also comes with malabsorption and the dumping syndrome. This is less of a risk with the sleeve. -

Can you submit to the claim to your insurance company? Call them and ask. I'm hoping you have receipts to submit. If it was already approved by your insurance the BMI shouldn't factor as most of us go on the pre-op diet to help shrink our liver and that results in weight loss. -

Frequently Asked Questions
cindyw41 replied to Lilee84's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the exact same stats as you. Started at 215, want to be 130. My nut says it is obtainable. Here's the thing. For the first year we lose mainly because of the sleeve, but it's up to us to do the work to get to our goal, eating right, exercising exc. well beyond that. You can blow those averages out of the Water. -
This morning's weight was 199! First time under 200 in soooo long!! It's only 1 lb but the decline continues

Pre-op diet, mini victory
cindyw41 replied to cindyw41's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This make a total of 9 since I started the pre-op. I will say I am not hungry at this point and have to force myself to eat. The best thing to do is set a schedule and try to eat the same schedule daily. The first couple days was rough but now it's a lot better. -
Question for sleeverz
cindyw41 replied to Brettnbeth's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Brettnbeth I just saw a study on this, there will not be enough of a change to notice. People won't start noticing till you lose about 15-20 lbs. When you start showing loss in your face people will notice more. -
My psych dr told me that I was approved and how he felt about my choice during my appointment. I didn't need a copy. They sent one to my doctor though.

Struggling with pre op diet
cindyw41 replied to MsAshley0307's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you tried adding crystal light with your Protein shake? I use the lemon with vanilla and with my strawberry sorbet. They have a couple different flavors to play with. Try adding different extracts. Mix it up a little -
@@sherryjntexas I'm still pre-op

December 2015 or January 2016 sleevers ?
cindyw41 replied to neequa25's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
http://garlicit.3dcartstores.com/ I may order some too -
I drink 5 unjury shakes a day (one can be made into chicken flavored soup) I can have 6 servings a day of s/f pudding, unflavored applesauce, s/f Jello, oatmeal, light yogurt and 1/2 cup cooked veggies I add the cooked veggies to my soup so my mind thinks it's vegetable soup lol I've been adding seasoning to all of it so its not so bland.
-
The hunger feeling could be a couple of things... Make sure you are drinking your required Protein shakes on a set schedule. About the same schedule everyday. It could be acid, try taking some Zantac or something like that. Try drinking some Water too..I know more liquid. My pee has never been so clear lol.

I'm from Maryland too! What hospital are you going to? I'll be at Franklin Square.

Gall bladder taken out after sleeve?!?!?
cindyw41 replied to grandmaofone's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Being overweight in general puts us in a higher risk of gall bladder disease. (Had mine removed in 96'). What also puts us at risk for gall bladder disease is the rapid weight loss. So our chances of not having our gall bladder go bad is slim to none. -
I'm 5'2" (with shoes ????) starting weight was 215. I've lost 7 lbs on the pre-op diet. Getting sleeved next Tuesday
-
Sorry to hijack this post, but how long are you post op? I was told I couldn't take metformin after surgery because it's XR.
-
My bariatric surgeon said to document infections every time you go to the Drs. (Family, dentist, eye) lol I know it sounds crazy but the more documentation you have the better chance your insurance will cover it Because then it becomes medically necessary.

Smoking nicotine test
cindyw41 replied to collinsmix's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Here is an article on the subject http://www.yourbariatricsurgeryguide.com/smoking-cessation/ I would have your doctor clarify if you need to be off the patch as well. -
To tell or not to tell? WLS
cindyw41 replied to RLH7882's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've told..I honestly don't care about the negative comments. This decision hasn't come lightly. I've been overweight for 20+ years. Obviously dieting and exercise alone hasn't worked. If I get resistance I tell them.. Well a team of 5 different medical professionals all agree that this is the right thing to do...I trust their judgement. That usually shuts them up.
