    Pre-approved right away?

There is a lot of things that will factor into this.. First your surgeons requirements. My surgeon for instance required his patients to follow a 7 month monitored weight loss program. This included monthly education classes, visits with a nut, psych evaluation and physiologist. If I missed one class, I had to start over. Second your insurance requirements. They may make an exception for you but they also want you to be successful and committed. Call them and see what their requirements and exceptions are. Every insurance/dr is different. Good luck!
  2. soft pajama pants.. Loved the in the hospital & Chapstick. At home..a body pillow if you're a side sleeper

    Scared and ????

I'm 5'2. My highest weight was 215. I was 196 the day of surgery. I'm 185 as of today 10 days out. I don't think my height had any negative play in how I was after surgery.. It did however make getting into the hospital bed fun. Lol. I am now looking into the future with hope and excitement of how my life is changing.

    Cold feet? Literally-feet

I wore my sandals 365 days a year..no lie, hot, cold, blizzard-whatever the weather. I haven't wore them since surgery (I wore them to the hospital & wore my socks and slippers home) I'm even wearing a coat.. Never did before.. There's something that happens to our internal thermostat lol. I'm always cold
  6. @@theladyslipper My taste has definitely changed.. But I think for the better. My favorite creamed soup is tomato... What?? I hate tomatoes. My desire for flavor has ignited my desire to cook again. I can't wait for the next stage (Pureed) so I can experiment with it. My family says "wow mom, you cook more now that you can't eat, than you did before". Lol sad but true. I'm hoping they start eating healthy with me without all the crazy looks as to "What is that?" Use this to find your new flavor.. It can be fun! I'm having a blast and I'm not even eating what I'm cooking yet.

    Smart Thermos

I thought my Yeti tumbler was expensive. Pretty cool but for $60, I'll keep my yeti and get the hydration reminder app
  8. Mine was very similar to this. What protein shakes are you drinking? I was very tired for a few days but it does get better (I'm 1 week post op) You can add Crystal light to your drinks (I know it doesn't make that much of a difference) but I had the strawberry sorbet protein, I added lemonade Crystal light. It was pretty good. It gives you Some kind of variety. Good luck
  9. Were you a caffeine drinker? It could be a caffeine withdraw. you tend to feel better after a few days in, your body is adjusting.

    How much is enough

Stop eating when you're satisfied, not when you're full and Meals should take 30 mins. They say to use very small spoons and that will help you not take such big bites and slow down

    what to expect

@@JenLyn81 I would get some meal planning trays and make a few of her favorite meals that she can just pop in the microwave (for about a week post op) Cereal, fruit and just easy things for her to fix. I wasn't able to bend over (it's still Hard for the first week) and I have been so tired that I just want to sit and watch tv. Ps. Taking a shower is the pits at first, she may have to help you wash your hair. It hurt and was so tiring to have my hands above my head for the first few days. It's better now at a week out. Hope this helps
  12. @@Leslie11 I did the exact same thing! The day of my surgery I was so calm, not nervous at all. Even after my surgery was delayed for almost 5 hrs. Now a week out my Taste is back (still Not hungry but really enjoyed the flavor of cream tomato soup) before you know it, you'll be here. Easy peasy!
  13. Powerade zero, water with fresh lemon, diluted juices (white grape, apple exc) someone recommended sonic ice and I will tell you.. If you like ice chips you'll love their ice. My husband got me two bags. Amazing!
  14. @@Pea523 my surgeon said our stomach doesn't have the enzymes and acids to break down the meds as before and it's not in there long enough for the ER to dissipate. My PCP is the one that discontinued that med, my surgeon made sure I wasn't to take it. I don't think it will harm you, it just won't work like its suppose to.

    Straws?

My dr and Nut said no straw...that lasted 3 days. Haven't looked back
  16. @@losergrl75 I didn't weigh myself when I came home from the hospital on Thursday. I weighed myself Friday and I had lost 4lbs since the surgery day. I drank protein a couple of times since surgery but my dr wanted me to concentrate on fluids for the first two weeks. So I'm sure the lack of calories has a lot to do with my loss. I see him next Wednesday, that's when I start adding protein back into my diet.
  17. Doing good here! A week out from surgery, I've lost 11 lbs. getting fluids in, fighting head hunger is a challenge but I keep reminding myself that feeling isn't real lol I went back to work today, then to the store for a few things, came home and took an hour nap, it was too much I'd say. I am actually looking forward to cooking again. We have a big snow storm coming this weekend (east coast.. Maryland) so I may be snowed in to play ????
  18. @Tweety40. I've been on full liquids since leaving the hospital. I can drink a lot but to eat broth, pudding, jell0 exc. is a whole different story. I can't get the whole pudding cup down, not even half of the Jello cup, maybe a 1/4 cup of the broth, but boy can i suck down something to drink lol Good luck with your next phase A 11oz premiere Protein shake takes me about 2 hrs, it must be the thickness
  19. Ok, so this may be a silly topic and I could honestly still wear my pj bottoms to work(the office is at my moms house). I just don't want to be one of "those people" in public with my pjs on lol. I haven't even tried my clothes on since I've been home. What did you wear in those early days after surgery?

    Irregular period

I started mine at the hospital right before surgery. This was a week ago. They were giving me lovenox in the hospital so I thought maybe it was the reason it was heavy. But I've been home from the hospital since Thursday and it's still here ????????. I have the Merena IUD and it's been irregular and a non issue when it does come but geez it's not like that now.
  21. I wore an old pair of yoga pants, that turned into paint pants along the way haha.. I wore a lose shirt and even a Bra. Overall not a big deal..I had my husband stop at Walmart on the way home for me to buy some new yoga pants and a couple shirts.. (2 sizes smaller!! Yahoo) but the trip had me sooo tired that I took an hour nap when I got home lol

    Hungry after Vitamins

At night I usually have a cup of tea after my vitamins/pills (I still have to crush my pills). In the morning have them before Breakfast. Maybe that will help Most of them you're suppose to take with food
  23. My doctor said if I had temp of 101* to call him or go to ER. How high is your temp
