  1. Go with a different multivitamin. Odd the your dr would give you anything with fizz.
  2. Being obese and rabid weight loss both are factors in having gallbladder attacks. With you having previous issues it seems like that would be a good option for you. 1 recovery, 1 surgery & taking care of two issues ????
  3. Post nasal drip most definitely could be the cause of your nausea.
  4. I couldn't drink anything in the hospital. I felt horrible day one, Slept all day..day two they took me off the IV and I could move about my room freely. I was able to walk some. I was able to drink once I got home, I didn't feel normal till day 7-8. I still have issues with being tired, losing energy but I'm getting better.
  5. There are tons* tons of Protein drinks out there. Some are better than others. unjury is one of the top rated quality protein sources. I used them during my 2 week pre-op diet. They are good to add sugar free syrups & PB2 to for flavor. Post surgery I have been drinking Premier Protein chocolate.. 30 gr of protein in 160 Cal. RTD 11 oz drinks. It takes me about 1 hr to get the 11oz down. Again I add things to it. PB2 is a staple for me. It's a powdered Peanut Butter. Vitamins- you'll be on them forever I used Centrum vitamints And chewable Calcium chews with D3. (Chocolate) Both available at the pharmacy. I liked both of these. I'm trying Bariatric Advantage berry multi Vitamins.. Yuck Bariatric Advantage caramel calcium chews- not bad Good luck

    Incision pain

The incision left of your belly button is the one they removed the stomach from. That is the only one that gave me issues. They don't hurt unless I press on them
  7. I had mine removed in 96'. Most wls patients have them removed because being obese/rapid weight loss kills them. I haven't had any issues.

    Returning to work

@ tweety40 They have 1/2 cup containers made by ziplock, glad, and store brands. They come with lids and can be microwaved. I'd use them to put your soup in so it's less likely that you over eat. I use them for everything and they're a big help for me. https://www.google.com/search?q=glad+1/2+cup+containers&client=safari&hl=en-us&prmd=sivn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjf7fW7gsnKAhUGPiYKHQVKALgQ_AUICCgC#imgrc=cur4R-7h3z66cM%3A
  10. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html Check out this blog.. She has some great ideas! Today I tried: egg salad for lunch meat loaf and mashed potatoes for dinner Mind you only about 2-3 tbs, if that. The mini chopper she shows here is a life saver for this stage. I've always had one but you can pick one up for $10-15 Cindy Ps: the ricotta bake..yum!!! Love it.

    Returning to work

I tire easy too. No energy is the pits! I do feel better when I have my Protein and stay hydrated. Ps... Make sure you're eating slow and stop eating when you're satisfied.. I find I can only eat 2-3 tbs of food at this stage ????. Eating too much may be why you felt sick.
  12. I also had eggs early on.. Even had egg salad, no issues. I had some soup that didn't agree with me. That's it so far.

    Staples?

I get mine out tomorrow... I know I'll have scars.
  14. I went back after 6 days but I couldn't talk on the phone and took naps frequently. (My throat was raw after the breathing tube) I needed a full two weeks honestly. My doctor wanted me to take 2 weeks. I was on a 2 week driving restriction.
  15. Thank you everyone. Hopefully the results won't take long. I'm going in the morning for the sonogram.
  16. I definitely haven't felt my ribs in years. ???? This is too far up for that.
  17. When I was 40 (im 42 now) I found myself pregnant. Shocker but at the time I had been married to the same man for 20 years, we have two wonderful kids. We were starting over. Sadly we lost the baby. They said My blood pressure was too high. I remember my family doctor saying. "You need to get healthy and be here for the children you have". Ok, saying this to a woman who just had a miscarriage is not ok, but she was right. Keep in mind I have PCOS. I was on fertility meds to get pregnant with my children who at the time was 16/18. What are the chances? I got pregnant again! We hadn't used b/c the whole time we've been married. I thought what is my body doing? What am I doing? Sadly again we lost the baby. They couldn't tell Me why this time. This made me determined and I started looking into WLS. My PCP said I didn't weigh enough. Yeah the one that said I needed to get healthy.. So I got a new DR. I was about to turn 42, emotionally I was better to make this decision and never looked back, I'm now 2 weeks post op. I can't wait to get healthy and do things with my husband & now 18/20 year olds. (And future grandkids). I WILL be healthy!!

    My first puréed meal

I'm excited to try a lot of her recipes. There's a lot of WLS surgery cookbooks out there but she gets it. Good luck
  19. I too had a repair. I'm not sure what to compare it to since I didn't have a VSg without one. My incision to the left of my belly button was the only pain I had. I read that's where they take out the stomach. Just take it easy and take your pain meds when needed. No heartburn here either but I'm still on the liquid phase. I hope that stays the same when I move onto the pureed phase. Good luck

    Day 5: miserable

My bowels woke up around day 5. I wouldn't try to stimulate them. You'll have to stay close to a bathroom. It lasted all day. I'm not being funny when I say.. Don't trust a fart.
  21. 7 months supervised diet, 7 months of education classes, 2 visits with a Nut, psych eval, 2 visits with a Physiologist, EGD , upper GI, medical clearance from PCP, documented sleep Apnea. Yup I think that was it

    ~2 Week Liquid Diet~

Eat/drink on a schedule.. I have a fit bit and i scheduled My alarm to go off to remind me to eat. Drink plenty of Water. I won't lie, the first few days are the pits. You may experience headaches and being tired. I didn't have headaches but boy was I drained. I often took naps after work. The good thing that happened to me. My body adjusted to my new eating habits and by the end of the first week I wasn't hungry, I had to force myself to eat.
  23. I didn't have to start protein the first 2 weeks. Especially not week 1. I would make the 8oz and split it for 2 servings. Keep the second in the fridge.

    Pre-approved right away?

@skepford. I'm about 2 weeks out and the months I spent doing all of the above went by so fast. Keep your eye on the prize and you'll do great!

    Post op day two, help

I started the day of my surgery.. I slept A LOT the first few days. Being tired is normal after major surgery. Your body is healing. Actually you may be drinking too much if you're getting 40oz on day two post op. You're suppose to gradually get there. I wasn't drinking that much till maybe day 6ish. The fluids from the hospital helps you not get dehydrated. My surgeon gave me extra just in case. Rest, drink, eat Popsicles. Repeat. It does get better. My period is still lingering, like day 12 ???? so be prepared for it to be wacky..
