Gradually get up to 64oz I hope. Your stomach it still swollen. There's no way I could get even close to that week 1. It's getting doable now at almost 4 weeks PO. It still takes me about an hour to get a 11oz protein shake down.

~2 Week Liquid Diet~

. Sorry that I just saw this. I have the charge. You can set the alarm to go off whenever and how often you like. From the App select the right arrow at the top where it says "charge" go down to silent alarms. You have to set each alarm separately. Then select everyday. -
I'm surprised that you didn't get discharge instructions regarding your medication. I would call your dr to find out what you should be taking. I've been in dangerous situations because I wasn't taking my meds. High blood pressure isn't something to mess with.
-
I was shocked considering it's been 150/170 in the past before. I am on 3 different blood pressure meds currently. I hope to come off or have them lowered in the next few month.

This is my plan. Some restaurants charge a plate sharing fee but it's a lot cheaper than ordering a full meal.

Couple of food questions :)
cindyw41 replied to Mrs_O's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would chop up the pickles for your tuna and you should be fine. I think you'll be shocked at how little you'll be able to eat. I can only get about 1/4-1/2 cup max, I'm almost 4 weeks out. -
When I was in the hospital they didn't give me all Of my medication..not sure why. But when I came home I took what I was on before surgery. I wouldn't take less or more than you're suppose to until your PCP changes it. My blood pressure was 110/60 at my last appointment. Mine has never, ever been that low. I have Malignant high blood pressure.

How much exercise do you do weekly?
cindyw41 replied to ididit34's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm restricted from weight training for another 5 weeks. I can't wait to start training like that -
I really didn't start losing till day 3-4. I lost a total of 15. If you strictly stick to the liquid diet you will lose, don't worry.

Pre-op Liquid Diet Question
cindyw41 replied to lastmemory318's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was allowed sugar free jello, pudding and light yogurt. All of that counted toward my liquid intake. -

I get a pain there if I eat or drink too fast. Do you usually have it while eating or drinking or is it random? -

I reached my 150 mins for the first time this week and I went to the gym 4 times. That also was my Drs goal that was set for me. I think I'll do this a couple weeks before I reset my goal. I'm 3 weeks post op and did not go to the gym regularly before. -
During my all liquid phase, creamed soups were considered liquid and counted toward my daily liquid requirements.

Yes. I can barely eat 1/4-1/2 cup and I'm full. Last night I had 1/2 of a grilled chicken breast and I was stuffed. I felt blah for about an hour.

How long were you in the hospital post op?
cindyw41 replied to scoots's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor stopped fluids after 1 day Po. Are you peeing? They should be monitoring your output. (Sorry that sounds ewe). If you aren't peeing or showing signs of dehydration they should put you back on the IV. The fluids they give/gave you should give you a few days where your intake wouldn't be a big factor. (That's what my doctor told me) -

I went in 1/12 was released 1/14. I was kept and extra day because I was sensitive to the anesthesia and slept the whole day after surgery. I wasn't out of bed till like 8 that night. I was released about 2 the 2nd day PO. -
Yeah, purree doesn't mean you can drink it but I blended my food in a mini chopper and there was no need to chew. I ate it with a spoon, small "bites" at a time. My doctor suggested getting small spoons to make sure I wasn't eating too much. On occasion I still find myself taking too large of a bite..my stomach lets me know to slow down and take smaller bites. I get a little pain that lets me know.

How long does pain last...
cindyw41 replied to Positive44's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My pain lasted 6 days or so. Only one of my incisions hurt though, the one to the left of my belly button. The tired feeling, no energy for me was worse than the pain. I should've taken 2 weeks off to have the energy to last a full day. -
I have new 4 scars, they used a previous scar for the 5th incision. I was closed with staples so I have 4 butterfly looking scars across my stomach. I'm only 3 weeks post surgery so they're still pretty red. Hoping they fade. My Dr recommended getting a cocoa butter lotion.

Shelly's ricotta bake was my favorite thing to eat. Search for it, it should bring up her blog with other ideas/recipes for this stage. I also loved meat loaf puréed with mashed potatoes. Enjoy!

I didn't call my Rep, I called the company themselves. They have access to more information about your policy.

I don't have Aflac but I have combined insurance. They've already paid me for the time I was in the hospital and I am filing a short term disability claim for my hernia (that was repaired during my wls). Call your customer service to check to see if your policy considers WLS as treatment for an illness.
