    Hursitism & PCOS?

I too have PCOS.. Your story mirrors mine almost to a t. I have had the Mirena IUD for about 2 years. I love the fact that I don't have to worry about taking yet another pill.. I'm on 5 medicines as it is and I was on metformin prior to surgery but was taken off of that about a month before. I have every PCOS symptom, except the cyst. (go figure) my most bothersome is the hair growth. I can't tweeze because i get a ridiculous amount of ingrown hairs. I shave, sometimes twice a day. I was sleeved 2 months ago, dropped 41lbs and sadly I have not seen a difference in hair growth. I am seriously thinking about trying laser hair removal. Its so expensive but at this point I'm ready to shell out the dough. Edited to add... with the IUD.. I bled for about 5 months after the implant, not a lot but it was always there. I am regular now. My periods are more like spotting most of the time with an occasional "normal" 7 day cycle. Even after having the 5 month long period I still say it was the best choice for us.
  4. I saw him 3 times in the office but I met him at the seminar and that's when I felt comfortable choosing him as my surgeon.

    Chewable Vitamins

The first 2 weeks I was exhausted all the time. I started taking my vitamins once I was home. Make sure you're drinking your 64oz and getting in your protein. This also will help with the energy.

    Me before weight loss surgery

I would say no, the sleeve can not be done again. You can however have a revision to the gastric bypass. The problem is finding a dr to do it. My surgeon will only do revisions because of medical reasons. (Gerd) he will not do a revision if the patient didn't follow the program.

I carry the majority of my weight around my waist.. I have lost inches everywhere else but my waist it seems. I've gone from a 22w to 18 and my shirts have gone for a 2x to a large. I've lost 41lbs. I can't wait to lose more around my waist...

Did your dr give you an rx for acid meds? I too had a repair and he said I'll be on meds for at least 3 months post op.
  14. 13lbs in 2 weeks....nope not slow that's pretty good
  15. At my pre-op visit, My doctor talked with me about my surgery date and this was prior to being submitted to my insurance. He books up rather quick and because my surgery required extra operating time he wanted to get it scheduled. So I left the appointment with a date. eTa..my EKG and chest X-ray was still good from when I had my EDG. (They are valid for 6 months). My blood work for the hospital had to be done within 2 weeks of my surgery.
  16. My first appointment with my surgeon was 6/24/15 my surgery was 1/12/16. He has a 6 month required program prior to surgery.

    Calorie intake

My goal is 800. Most days I have to fight to get there. (7weeks out). I can hit my Protein target with less than 400 Cals but know that is way too low. I "fluff" my calories with things like yogurt or hard boiled eggs.

    Ladies-Your Period

I started my period the day of surgery. It lasted almost 3 weeks. Thought it would never end. Our hormones will level out, hang in there [emoji18]
  20. I can't get it to go off even after doing this. My app on my phone still shows over 500 notifications. Makes me crazy Sometimes phones get hung up....mine read that I had a "phantom" unread email for months.. I went insane lol. I would turn off the app's notifications
  21. @@RoadToMe that's how many people that have liked your post or quoted what you've posted. On the opening page there is 3 lines to the top right of the screen. If you click that and go down to notifications and select the "bell" it should clear that number. eTA. You can also turn off notifications in your app settings on you phone.
  22. Search for the blog "the world according to egg face". She has an excellent recipe for a ricotta bake. She also has tons of other recipes and tips.
  23. On the new app there is a little star. It's yellow if you have participated, if you click the star it will turn off the notifications for that post.
  24. I didn't rush my bowels to wake up. I let it happen naturally. Because I was on the liquid diet 2 weeks prior to surgery and the bowel prep right before, there was nothing of substance in there. On day 5 my bowels woke up..at 2 am..and I had diarrhea for days.

    How much can you eat

I'm 7 weeks out and I as well can't eat that much. When going out I eat what I can and bring the rest home. The blog "the world according to egg face" has a lot of recipes for left over food. It is wonderful, I'm on there daily.
