  1. We have salad Works here. It's kinda like subway but for salads. You can build your own. I opted for the toppings only, no lettuce. Proteins, bean, cheeses stuff like that with dressing on the side. It definitely help cure my salad craving. They also didn't look at me funny when I said, no lettuce please lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Weight LOSS SO FAR

Yay! I think we all have our struggles no matter how far we are out. I had my surgery Jan 12th and I'm 17 lbs from my goal, 12 lbs from my Drs goal.. Excited to see the scale go down. It's slower now but I'm almost there!! Keep going

    It's frustrating when...

I can't find ANY food that I desire or satisfies me. I mean nothing!! It's kinda crazy that food to me now it just eh. I used to crave a good steak or shrimp and now when I have those things I'm like "well that was disappointing" It definitely makes eating a chore when you don't enjoy it anymore. 2 weeks Post Op Pain Under Rib Cage

2 weeks, yard work may have been doing too much. Light housework should be fine, just take it easy. You may feel fine but you are still healing on the inside. See if resting helps with that pain. I slept a lot and could barely get off the couch during that time period. . Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

2 weeks Post Op Pain Under Rib Cage

Did they check for a leak in the hospital? I couldn't have anything to drink until they did that test. Too add.. leaks are rare especially if you are following your post op instructions. Did you lift something? I know with my hiatal hernia repair I couldn't lift more than 10lbs for 6 weeks. I also had a dull ache for about 3 weeks post op. That was my turning point of feeling "normal" Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    HAIR LOSS

My Dr said increasing your Protein to 100 gr a day will help with the regrowth. That there isn't anything we can do to prevent it. I now where a hat when out in the sun for fear of sunburn on my scalp. I really hope it quits soon. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Sugar free gum

Some doctors don't allow it because of the chance of accidentally swallowing and causing issues. I chewed gum early on, swallowed it accidentally and did not have any problems. Just be careful not to do the same..such a habit I didn't even think about before Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    To Drink or No?

How far out from surgery are you? My liquid intake amount was gradual. By the end of the first week I was drinking 8 oz within 30 mins. They even gave me different size cups at the hospital to help. There are eating schedules online to help keep on track of your goals. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Pushing to Eat

When I was in the hospital they only forced me to walk. The doctor made sure I had plenty of Iv fluids so I wouldn't be dehydrated. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. I get calcium citrate minis, high potency Iron (Walgreens brand) and I use the Centrum vitamints. I get them all from Walgreens. It's important to take your iron separately from your calcium (by a couple of hours) and make sure your multi has magnesium to help absorb the calcium. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. I am eating normal foods..I guess you missed that Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. My Protein shakes are 160 cal and 30grams of protein. So 3 x 160 is 480 calories w/ 90 grams of protein. Believe it or not it is possible. This is not the only thing I eat. Drinking mostly Water and eating very small portions of other things I can eat 800 cal and feel comfortable. At this stage I'm still not ever hungry but feel sick if I force myself to eat more. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. I'm about 5 months post op. My Nut doesn't want me over 800 calories a day. Every doctor has their own program and my Nut works closely with him. I'm following their rules. I actually struggle getting in the minimum of 600 cal on some days. ps. I can get 90 grams of Protein in less than 500 calories. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Is it just me.....?

I hear of all the ones who gain the weight back as well. Um I'm not them. It's amazing how many people do not have a filter. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  23. It was my understanding that your hormones were off after surgery. I don't want to get tested if the test results are off because of that. So Im wondering if there would be a time period of when your hormones level off.. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Crossing the Dunes

I was you last summer..sitting on the sidelines, not doing things because I knew I couldn't or was afraid I couldn't.. My surgery was in January..now this year I'm trying new things..I'm climbing the rocks, (haven't been to the beach yet) but I am definitely not sitting on the sidelines watching my family have fun. I knew this surgery would be life changing yet I'm still amazed at how much it truly has changed every aspect. Here's to summer of 17' and a lifetime of endless possibilities Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. I wonder how far out post op would give us a normal baseline. I'm about 5 months out and still dealing with no energy despite losing 60+ lbs. My Iron level was low, so I've been on supplements for about a month. Unfortunately there has been no change in my energy level. My sex drive has also slacked This could be my issue too but how long should I wait to get tested? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
