What made you get a tat?

I want one..or 2. I just turned 43. The first one I want is the infinity symbol with my children's names in script within the symbol. Something like this And then something to remind me of how far I've come when I'm at goal.. Not sure what that will be. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I've had 2 closet purges so far (5 months out). I buy a nice new outfit if I have something coming up. Most of the time I'm in shorts with a draw string and a t shirt. My biggest expense I fear is going to be in shoes! I've already gone down a size. Oh and also I lost an inch in height!! What the crap!!?? Ugh I went to a consignment shop over the weekend and got some pants and a few dresses. Some I can wear now and the rest in a couple weeks I'm sure. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Unflavored apple sauce. They also have small cans of chicken Or chicken salad kits(minus the crackers) Hard boiled eggs, they sell packs of 2 at most convenient stores. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. One thing that I learned is that your body has changed and things you used to eat may not taste as good as before or you can't handle it anymore. During this time period when you're still trying to figure out what you can eat you may have to supplement with a Protein shake still. We're all different but I'm 5 months out and can't eat more than 1 oz of meat in a meal. So for me to get in my protein I have to supplement. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    HELLO JANUARY SLEEVERS!

    Headaches

Try drinking some Gatorade (G2) I have a Yeti cooler that I keep on hand. Drink it often (I use a straw) but drink it slow. If you start showing signs of severe dehydration, don't play around go to the ER. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Bathroom

Keep in mind liquid in.. Liquid out. I find that it goes from one extreme to the next sometimes. You could also have overdone it with the softeners. I haven't had to take anything as of yet so I'm not familiar them. Some swear by the squatty potty stool. Luckily I haven't had any issues as of late but if it returns I'm definitely getting one Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Pills and vitamins

Your surgeon should definitely go over your meds with you. Mine did at my Pre op appointment and then again before I left the hospital. He let me know which ones to hold off on, when to start taking them again etc. I had to stop taking my metformin Xr. I had to crush my meds for 4 weeks post op but I only last 3 weeks. They taste nasty! At 3 weeks I had no issue swallowing them one at a time. Now at 5 months out I can swallow all 5 at once. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. I was also required a supervised 6 months weight loss program. My doctor required a 7 month one. All of his patients have to do 7 months of nutrition classes. This helped me stay on track. I knew once a month I had to step on that scale. I learned so much in the process. It was definitely what I needed to keep my butt focused. Plus if we missed a class we had to start over and that meant more out of pocket expense or he would kick us out of the program. Either one of those was not acceptable. Check with your hospital and your Dr to see if some type of program is available. It really helped me Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    ITCHY!

Have you tried taking Benadryl? I'd also get some type of sensitive skin moisturizing cream. Maybe this will help you till you can talk to your team. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Vacation

Get a lunch box, fill it with things you're allowed. For instance I was allowed Jello, unflavored apple sauce, yogurt plus other things. I also got an 8 oz rubber made shaker cup (with a screw on lid). Filled it with my Protein powder and I would just buy cold Water to mix it with when I got to where ever we were eating at. Not one restaurant said anything to me. Have fun!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    No Jello?!

Odd..jello turns to liquid when you eat it and counted toward my liquid intake. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. How long have you been on your liquid diet? After day 3-4 I was no longer hungry or having cravings. You may not even need it to suppress your appetite Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Can I eat this?

http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html Check out this blog.. Her puréed suggestions saved me those two weeks. The rest is great for our new eating habits.
  17. @@mich74 Such restraint! I'm amazed!! I've never met a scale I didn't stand on lol. My family doctor now has a scale in each exam room..I was just weighed in the hallway 5 minutes prior. Yes..I have a problem haha Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Starting weight was 215, I was 5'2 at the time. (Ive lost an inch!!). My surgery was January 12 and I've lost 63 lbs. I have 12 to go till my Drs goal and 17 till mine. It has slowed some, so these last lbs may take longer. My stomach is the last place I have to lose in. I've noticed sagging skin under my arms (bingo wings) and a little on my thighs. 19. Have you been up waking? During my fist day they had circulation wraps to help ward off blood clots while I wasn't moving. You might want to mention your leg pain to your nurse. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. At this time she gave me anti nausea medicine and a nasal spray to help open up the sinus passages. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. Checking to see if anyone else is experiencing this. I had it once before (dizzy spells and the room spinning) but it's back again. I've been dealing with it for about 2 weeks now. I'm not dehydrated or deficient on any of my vitamins/proteins. I went to my PcP today to be evaluated. She's treating me for inner ear issue but there is no way of knowing for sure that's what's causing it. She's not specialized in bariatrics so before I call my surgeon, I thought I'd check with the real experts Does rapid weight loss cause this? Has anyone dealt with it? To have this happen twice since surgery in itself is odd. Coincidence? Maybe but I wanted to throw this out there. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. @@KristenLe Yes, my surgeon tested me for all of the Vitamins. My NUT made sure that I was taking a multi with Magnesium to help with Calcium absorption. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. She has taken me off 2 of my Pb meds. I'm still on 2. So it's possible I'm having drops. I had started adding G2 this week thinking I was dehydrated or low on electrolytes. It hasn't helped. Vertigo is a possibility, if it doesn't clear up she's sending me to a PT for treatment. If that doesn't help onto a ENT I go. This definitely sucks!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. My last fasting A1C 5.8, glucose was 89 but I'll check it at home when this happens. I didn't even think about sugar! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. I was suppose to crush them for 4 weeks.. I could only handle it for 3. That crap is nasty lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
