Surgery went well! No complications so far. My doctor has given the ok to start introducing any foods that I can tolerate and so far everything has been fine except I ran out of protein shakes this morning and so I started to drink one of my sons Boost. BIG mistake. Too much sugar. I stopped after 2 sips and realized it was not going to end well. Luckily no dumping. I haven't thrown up once! The pain at the beginning was what I would consider minimal. Ive lost about 25 pounds so far so Im loving it!

Mine is scheduled for October 23rd. Pre oP visit is on Oct. 6th. Cigna has already approved so I'm all set to go! Minus the $6500 payment that still needs to be made! Excited but dreading the liver shrink 2 weeks prior to surgery.

Im going through the insurance hoops right now, but anticipating surgery in October. I am a teacher and will have to take off a few weeks of school to have the procedure. I don't know if I want to tell EVERYONE at work about having the surgery but want to know what to tell them as to why I was out for several weeks and then explaining the sudden weight loss. I don't want to open myself up to opinions and comments. How have y'all handled this? Is it best just to tell everyone?

Thanks everyone for responding! I've told the people I want to tell and the rest can just "assume" what they want. Y'all are right, If i tell them Im eating less and exercising it won't really be a lie and truthfully no one that I haven't told the truth to probably don't care anyway! If they ask Ill just tell them I had a procedure! thats vague enough!

My husband, children, mother, sisters, and best friend all know about it. I know I can count on their support! I just don't want to open up a discussion with the nay sayers!
