  1. Eggs make me nauseous! I've tried to eat them a few times and I feel so horrible after just a few bites...

    Straws?

I've been using straws since the day I had surgery. My surgeon actually recommended it. Says we take smaller sips with straws. I've had no problems at all. I was sleeved 12/17/15.
  3. @Lemm I too am an RN and I know the wear and tear our bodies take in this profession. I made the decision to have surgery in July and after all the hoops required by insurance I was sleeved 12/17. I've not had 1 single regret since surgery. Good luck on your journey.
  4. Sleeved 12/17. I'm in South Florida

    Tomorrow is the day

Just follow your doctors instructions and get up and walk as soon as you can and as often as you can. Good luck!

    Insomnia after Sleeve?

I have the same problem! Doesn't matter if I go to bed at 9 or midnight, I'm wide awake at 3 am... Sucks. It's hard to function when I have to go to work for 12 hours when I've been awake so early. I've tried melatonin with no help. Benadryl works but then I feel hungover for hours after I get up. I can't take it if I have to go to work.

    Bread/Crackers

My surgeon stresses a low carb diet forever. No crackers, bread, rice or pasta.

    Any December Sleever's?

@@Snuzin I was sleeved 12/17. I went 4 days without a bm then the diarrhea started and hasn't stopped. It's quite inconvenient.... Glad you're doing well otherwise. I'm doing good. I'm getting in all my fluids and protein. I've lost 10lbs since surgery. Hope our bathroom issues clear up soon. Good luck!
  9. @@ssflbelle My surgeon only did surgery one day a week until recently when he added two more days each week because his practice has gotten so busy. I'm sorry to hear that you have to wait so long because of your surgeons schedule. That sucks to have it drawn out so much longer. Hang in there.
  10. Wait a few days before stepping on the scale. Your body needs time to adjust to everything it's been through.
  11. No drain for me. I was sleeved yesterday 12/17.

    Any December Sleever's?

@@Jdr24 how are you feeling after your first week? Much pain? Are you up and moving around pretty easily? I'm scheduled this Thursday so I'm just wondering what to expect the first week.

    Preop diet question.

I would definitely let your doc know. Electrolyte ( sodium, potassium etc.) imbalances will cause those muscle cramps.
  15. I had my first visit with the surgeon August 3. I had to do 90 days of physician supervised diet. I'm scheduled Thursday 12/17 for surgery. I'm very thankful my insurance only requested 90 days instead of 6 months like so many others.

I'm an ICU RN. I think we spend so much time taking care of others that we forget to take care of ourselves!

    Hey everyone

I too am waiting for insurance approval. I was hoping to get a call yesterday (Friday) but it didn't come. I hope it happens soon so I can plan my life for December... Lol!
