  1. I had my first bm after 7 days and that was because I took miralax. I was afraid of getting constipated. My bms were small the first month.
  2. I was good 10 weeks out. Pretty much able to eat whatever, small amounts of course.

    Over Ate....

Sometimes it's what you eat, not just the amount. There are some foods that make me feel stuffed and sick after eating a very small amount while other foods I can eat at least 1/2 -3/4 cup and feel fine.
  4. Fluids go through your sleeve pretty quickly. At 1 week post I was able to drink 64-80oz fluids and drink my protein shakes to get at least 60gm protein every day.
  5. I'm not able to tolerate eggs. Never had a problem before surgery but my sleeve doesn't like them at all. Scrambled egg was my first "real" food I tried and it only took 2 bites to realize I couldn't handle it. Wanted to throw up. Now at 3 months post op, I've tried scrambled eggs 2 more times and have had same experience. Guess I just won't eat eggs again...sad!
  6. The head hunger doesn't go away for everyone. There are days I want to eat non stop and other days very little. The PPIs helped me in the beginning but not so much now. It's a struggle.... As for your constipation, I'd try an enema. You don't want to get too backed up!
  7. I went back to work after 7 days. I was exhausted for the first month post op. It's gotten much better as I've been able to eat more calories. I'm 3 months post op now and although I still tire easily, it's nothing like that first month. I just suggest getting lots of protein (at least 60grams) and fluids in every day. Hang in there. It will get better!

    BJ's Warehouse

Yes BJs sells the premier protein shakes. That's where I buy mine. I live in South Florida but I'd think they'd sell them in all their locations.

    Easter Weight Loss Challenge

    Hi! Today's weight= 195.8
  10. I only stayed 1 night. Less than 24 hours
  11. I think your weight loss is awesome! Your NUT sounds like a nut! Lol! Sorry. Anyway I'd say keep doing what you're doing. I think you are doing everything correctly.
  12. I was sleeved 12/17/15. Down 35 since surgery and 60 since August 2015 when I first saw my surgeon.

    Anesthesiologist Bill

I too had to pay for anesthesia because they were "out of network". Really ticks me off because I specifically had surgery at a hospital and with a surgeon in network! I had to pay the anesthesia bill. Thankfully it was only $350. But still....
  14. I would go to a gastroenterologist. They specialize in stomach issues. It doesn't sound right that this keeps happening.
  15. I had surgery 12/17/15. I've seen my surgeon 3 times since then and each time I go to the office, I also see the nutritionist either before or after I see the surgeon.
  16. I went 1 and 1/2 years without a period. My gynecologist did blood work in September that showed I was in early menopause. (I'm 43) The week before my sleeve in December I had a period! I was shocked. Anyway, since then I've had 2 more period exactly 28 days apart... I'm so bummed. It was nice not having periods. I truly hope they stop again. I've always had horrible cramps that only got better with ibuprofen, which now after surgery I'm not supposed to take. So it's pretty miserable having periods again....
  17. I was in the hospital only for about 24 hours so I definitely overpacked. I definitely used the extra long phone charger and lip balm. I wore home what I wore to hospital, loose sweat pants and big t-shirt. Didn't use my gas x strips or my biotene mouth wash until I was home. I used a hospital gown because I was on a cardiac monitor with wires going everywhere and I had an IV so wearing my own gown would have been difficult. I used my own flip flops when getting up out of bed to go to the bathroom and walk around my room.
  18. No drain with my sleeve.
  19. There's no way I could have tolerated wearing a binder postop. I could barely wear a loose fitting bra and underwear. Irritated my little incisions.
  20. I'm 9 weeks out and I don't take them. My surgeon never told me I should take them. I've not had a problem. I'm glad too, since there's so much bad info coming out about PPIs...
  21. Hi everyone. I've read that several people take probiotics post op to help with constipation. What brands are everyone using? I want to start taking them but I'm not sure which ones and whether I need to spend extra money or if the inexpensive ones are ok. Thanks for any help you all can provide!????
  22. I live in South Florida near West Palm Beach and if my insurance didn't cover my sleeve, it would have been $8400.
