  1. Apparently there's not going to be a Labor Day challenge since that's only 4 weeks away
  2. My recovery was pretty easy. I was in the hospital less than 24 hours and I went back to work after 1 week. I took very little pain meds or nausea Med. I've not had any reflux or heartburn. No issues whatsoever. I'm down 69lbs since December 17,2015. Feel great. I've been off my blood pressure meds since the day I had surgery.
  3. I never had really bad pain. I never finished my small bottle of pain meds the surgeon prescribed me. I was back to work as a nurse within a week.
  4. I too was that yo yo dieter. Sucks.... Had my sleeve 12/17/15 and so happy I did!! Best thing I ever did! Good luck to you on your journey!

    Weighing in

I weigh myself daily to keep myself accountable. I don't see anything wrong with it.

    Salad....ever again? If so when?

I'm 8 months out and I've been eating salads for a couple months. Just like Dub, I try to eat protein first.

    Wow. Tomorrow!

Congratulations on this journey you are about to go on! I'm almost 8 months post op and have been so happy with my sleeve. Zero regrets! My HW was 260, SW 235 and CW 166. I know it's a little scary but you'll be fine. Just follow your doctors orders and use common sense. And just remember, it's a tool not a miracle. Prayers for you tomorrow and speedy healing!!

    Help, puking

I would definitely try broth or warm liquids. I couldn't drink really cold drinks for a few weeks because they made me nauseous.
  10. 168.7.... Missed my goal but happy with my progress. Thanks for doing the challenge!
  11. My Walmart has both flavors. I don't like banana so I skipped that one but I got the caramel. It's good but very sweet. Chocolate is still my favorite. I mix instant coffee with it every morning.
  12. Hi! Congrats on your upcoming surgery! I was sleeved December 17, 2015. I was terrified but surgery went fine. No issues. Best decision I ever made! I have zero regrets! Keep reading posts on Bariatric pal, I learned so much on this site!
  13. My first consultation with my surgeon was August 3, 2015. My insurance required at least 90 days nutritional counseling. My sleeve was done December 17, 2015. My surgeon was very busy towards the end of the year so it was over 4 months from first visit to surgery date... It was worth the wait! I'm just over 6 months and I've lost 65 since surgery plus I lost 25 pre-op from August to December... 90 total!! Soooo loving my sleeve!!

    Seeing The Difference

Awesome job!!! Feels great doesn't it?!!
  15. 171.7 Happy Monday everyone![emoji3]
  16. I am 6 months post op and just found out that my surgeon is no longer accepting my insurance so I can't go to him anymore. The letter I received suggested I find a new surgeon to continue post op care. Do I really need to? How many visits to your surgeon did you all make after the 6 month mark? I see my primary doctor for all my lab work, etc... I've not had any problems and at my last visit, the surgeon and nutritionist said I was doing awesome. I really don't want to see any one else. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks

    Loving my sleeve!

Congrats to you @@moejoe27 , sounds like you're doing awesome! I was sleeved in December. Tomorrow is my 6 month surgiversary. I'm so thankful I made this decision! I'm down 63 since surgery and 88 since first seeing my surgeon last August. It's such a great feeling to see the pounds falling off and our clothes looser. Continue the good work on your journey!

So proud of myself for being able to hike and to walk across this swinging bridge in Montana. Before, my weight would have prevented me from being able to be active. This was a great moment in my weight loss journey!

  20. I actually saw this on a documentary on tv about weight loss surgery. A man in England had it and after he would eat, he would go to the bathroom and pump out the contents into the toilet. He said he did it because he didn't want to give up being able to eat "normal" portions of food... It was kind of gross to watch...
