On the right track ????????
tjstark replied to atontor's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow, big change in the last 3 months! Well done, sir. -
I got everything beforehand so I could be prepared for as soon as I got home from the hospital. I started taking my vitamins the day after I got home!
-
Best of luck for tomorrow, I hope it goes well. Don't think too much about what next, just take it a step at a time.

I know this is a crazy question...
tjstark replied to mickie41's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your own underwear maybe, but I think you just wear the gown and disposable undies in surgery. -

Still miserable begging for advice
tjstark replied to brandeett's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It could be gas pain, @@brandeett? Try Gas-X strips if you're from the US, or chewable Windeze in UK. -
Wine and Coffee (black drip coffee, NOT lattes, frapps, etc)
tjstark replied to Jim in Utah's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on Thursday and was allowed black coffee and tea by Friday, and have been having it each day since. -
Congrats to all of you. Keep up the great work.
-
I am day two post-op and I find that lots of walking, peppermint tea and some sort of chewable wind tablet (Windeze in the UK) really helps!
-
I am two days out now, feeling a lot better than the first day! I'm sipping constantly throughout the day. I wish I could rid myself of the horrible gas pains though, the actual incisions don't hurt much!
-
It's the night before for me -- sleep is eluding me! This forum has been so helpful and inspiring. See you on the other side! X I'm on the 30th also. Good luck tomorrow. And you!

I would love to do this. Where would the meet up be?

I would give anything for a Diet Coke...
tjstark replied to Psychsnob's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Lots of interesting stories here! Diet Coke is my drink of choice, but on the whole I don't drink a lot of fizzy drinks... when I do it's Diet Coke, and it's usually just a can a week. I do hope I'll be able to indulge every now and again post-op! -
I'm pre-op so I may not be an authority on this just yet, but perhaps not losing lots so quickly is a good thing? Perhaps the stalls every now and then will help you regulate the weight loss in the long-term; losing lots of weight quickly could lead to excess skin etc., perhaps the stalls will mean you lose weight over a longer period, leading to an ultimately better lifestyle? After all, it's a marathon, not a sprint. And I like what @ said, and I think this could be very true -- RELAX! Perhaps the stalls are being brought on by mental stress/anxiety over weight loss, too? Try relaxing and let nature take its course and enjoy your new life without overthinking it. If we can give ourselves knots in our stomachs, constipation etc. from mental stress/anxiety, it's possible for us bariatric patients this could lead to stalling too?

Pre-op: Two weeks till surgery and already changes are coming!
tjstark posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I don't know what is going on with me lately but I feel renewed... the decision to have this surgery feels liberating and even before I go under the knife, already I feel more confident?! Today I told all my family and friends about my decision -- and even started a YouTube vlog and a blog tracking my journey. It is SO unlike me to put myself out there so publicly, but already I can feel myself changing, being more outspoken and being the confident person I know I can be. I feel like even just making the decision to do this has made me change for the better. Did anyone else feel like this? I'm so ready for my surgery -- the date is confirmed for July 30. Bring on even more change! -
