Throwing Up All The Time, Making Me Tired At Work
jen122277 replied to jen122277's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank you for all the kind words, advice and support. I talked to my doctor and he said stress was triggering these complications. I also noticed with all this weight loss that I am not as restricted now, I can't eat like I did before the fill, but I am seeing how I can portion foods out. Only when I really make bad food choices do I have PB now. I still have loads of stress, but I am learning how to deal with it. -
Throwing Up All The Time, Making Me Tired At Work

Thank you to everyone who has replied to my post. I am now realizing that I am in a serious situation and need to get help from my surgeon right away. I know some of you guys out there know the feeling I am talking about. That stabbing, golf ball in your throat feeling which seeme like it won't ever go away with out throwing up and on top of it you are dying of thirst. I am learning how important chewing your food really well is, it has also taught me that shoveling in the food at such a rapid pace got me here in the first place (Pre-Band). I have called my parents several times complaining about not feeling well and they think I am just trying to get validation to stop trying to loose weight, which is not the point at all. The point is, I am in pain and I want it to stop, hence my call to the doc today. I am hoping there is an easy solution to this. When you have come so far and done so much to help yourself you do not want to take a step back, just move forward. It is rough, but all of you guys through kind and tough love are the best. Jen -
Throwing Up All The Time, Making Me Tired At Work

Hello My Fellow Band-sters. I got my first fill on 1/19 and the weight loss has been great, I have posted about feeling a little too tight before, but now I am in a serious prediciment. On a normal day I only have to throw up about once or twice (I am seriously careful about what I eat) but I have been having some emotional problems as of late and was put back on Lexapro and Xanax, now everytime I throw up I feel like I am going to pass out. Most of the time the throwing up episodes are at work, which really sucks cuz now I look like the company bulimic. People ask "Whats that noise" coming out of the ladies room, and it is me tring to unlodge whatever got caught, sometimes I try to let it pass but the chest pains are so bad I can't take it. I feel like a zombie at work and now when I go home I do even eat dinner and go right to bed around 7pm. A few people here know I have the band and they are very supportive, but it is not something I want to advertise to all these new people who I have to spend 8 hours a day with. And to boot after I throw up I get this horrible burning sensation in my throat. Any advice out there... I don't want to get unfilled because I am already late with my first fill as it is because the first time they went to fill me they found that my port was flipped so I needed another operation and had to wait yet another 6 weeks for this fill. Thanks for reading...you guys are always so kind and helpful -
Hello All, I had my first fill about 3 weeks ago and I have to say they really went to town on that fill. Unfortunately I throw up pretty much everyday, sometimes its because I ate to fast, sometimes it is just from Water and right now I have a stabbing pain in my side...Loosing 13 pounds in 3 weeks has been great, but is this band life? I find myself only drinking water and the occasional yogurt smoothie. I ventured out to have ONE very soft raviloi today and only 1/2 went down...what is up, am I filled too tight? Jen

Hello All, Once again I am writing on here because I feel like the BIGGEST idiot whoever lived. This has absolutly NOTHING to do with the weight loss, but the band itself. Before the band I was on birth control pill (4 months ago) and lets just say my "Mr. Perfect" and I had a long awaited tryst the other night, not even thinking the deed was done, and because of the surgery I went off the pills and had a complete loss of memory when the ever so rare "Mood" struck. I haven't been on the pills in a long time and I was wondering has any of the bandsters out there taken the "Morning After Pill"??? Should I call my surgeon and get his advice...should I just go get the pill...times a ticking and I have learned my lesson. I heard its not good to get pregnant after being banded so receintly...which I DEFINATLY do not want to be pregnant.. On a happier note, I have my first fill next week which I am really thrilled about.

We should start a "Do-Over" club. No shame to be in it, but we need to be held accountable for our actions. NO SWEET TALK, just motivation! Whos in with me?

Hello All In Band-Land, I haven't been on here in awhile because I thought I could get away with food-murder and I did! I should be hitting myself in the face right now. I was banded in late September and was suppose to have a fill in early November to find out that my port has slipped and now I cannot have a fill until Jan19th. Its like the band doesn't even exist in my body anymore. I was great after surgery and now all I want to do is eat and eat and sometimes I in fact do just that. I am feeling like a failure here. Anyone else on here need to be in the 'Do Over" mode? I wish I could stop my mind from thinking about food.

How long were you down when you had the correction? Were you put totally under?

Guys I need your help here. I went for my first fill today and after tons of needle poking they figured out that my port has flopped 180 degrees. I have to go back into the hospital next week to have it fixed. The doc said I didn't do anything to cause this, but I am feeling guilty like I might have done something, but I don't know what. I am really scared. Has anyone out there experienced this?

Hey All, I just read the Taco Bell thread and I have a bad bad bad confession of my own. I ate Chipotle' last night, I had a bowl with Chix, Rice, Black Beans, cheese and a touch of Salsa, Sour Cream and a couple of chips. I was only able to eat about a fouth of it, but man did it taste good. I had my surgery on Sept 20th and now I feel like I can eat ANYTHING again, just without a whole lot of liquid, I definatly can eat a lot less of food, but my restriction is basically non-existant. I have a fill on Nov 10th which I think will kick my butt into shape. Question: When you are not restricted you can still do damage to your stomach and band by eating too much? Correct? I am confused. I talked to my surgeon yesterday and he said everything in "moderation" what %$#! does that mean. Bandsters I know you can help me with this... I don't want to gain any weight. Thanks, Jen

Hello All, I am 3 weeks post opp and I have a few questions, maybe my dear friends here can help me with: #1 I feel like I can eat just about anything now, just in moderation, is this because I have not gotten my first fill yet? 1 week ago I would wake up and feel instant restiction, now I am not feeling as much restriction these days. #2 I went back to work this week (Monday) and wouldn't you know by Wednesday I had a full blown chest & ear infection, I was so hungry all day long I didn't know what to do. Was it because my body was working over time to kill off this infection? What do you guys do when you get ill? I am back to work today, but my port incision is KILLING me. #3 Does your weight loss stall when you are sick? I have been noticing a steady loss but now since I have been sick the scale has not budged. #4 (Not A Question) Thank you so much for all your continued support Thanks, Jen

Hey Guys, I went for my first post opp and I was down 12 pounds in one week! This was a great incentive and start to this journey. After seeing that scale read out I wasn't so jaded about some of the un-pleasantness that goes along with your first week being banded. Thanks to everyone who helped me through that rough first week. I am now 10 days post opp and every day gets eaiser. I still feel restriction but not as much as last week. One question, do people feel like they can eat normally before a fill? Is that an indication to get one done? Rock On Loosing Ladies! Jen
