All you people do is complain...

I don't see any picture of you for us to worship. and it looks to me like you spend plenty of time on your computer reading every post and passing judgment. You must be a pleasure to know in real life. Lots of friends.......... right?

Dr. said I need to diet

I am so discouraged, I have lost a total of 26 pounds, that have been lost since December and I cannot get below that!! I have had 3 fills and one very unpleasant overfill which sent me to the er for an unfil. I have been blowing off my Dr appts since then and I feel like why did I bother. I have had some goodies. More lately since I feel like it is not even working anyhow. If I could stick to a diet I would not hev needed the surgery. I am pissed and completely discouraged.
  6. I posted the first message in this thread and for what it's worth I had a conversation with my Dr regarding eating solids so soon after surgery and band slippage, he told me I have the large band. (wow I'm even fat on the inside  ) He also said the liquid diet was more about avoiding the chance of vomiting. People are all different and some may not be able to tolerate the solid food and may vomit in responce to eating it. I had no problem with the solid food and still don't. I guess with the larger band there is little or no restriction. I think what we all need to take home from this is the fact that everyone is different and every surgeon has different rules for different reasons. Blanket statements with warnings of band slippage etc..gave me a lot of needless worry. When in doubt check with your surgeon!! He or she is the only person qualified to give you answers, not the readers of a chat room blog or post. People mean well and can only speak about their own experiences. You surgeon knows you and your case. Go to him/her with the questions you really want answers to. And oh yeah...........be truthfull with him.
  7. I am also a teacher, small world.. that will soon have alot less fat teachers in it
  8. I put my bra back on the minute I was brought to my room from recovery. I even wear it to sleep!! They are not underwire and did not bother my incisions. But... when the fat rolls my port incision scar up under the elastic when I sit certian ways then ouch.. but the incisions really healed quickly and felt soooo much better after the staplea came out

    Back to Reality

today was my first day back as well, the only thing that bothered me was being able to feel my port, it feels heavy and wierd oh yea, I am also STARVING:eek:
  10. Hi, I was banded on 12/20, My incisions are healed and I can feel my port, it feels really large?? I thought it was supposed to be round, mine feels round in one spot and I can also feel a long hard structure under there, what is most un-nerving is the fact that I can feel it and I am very aware of its presence when I walk, like it is heavy in there?? I do not really know how to describe the feeling but it is wierd :paranoid I was wondering about other peoples experience with their ports. It sort of makes the muscle under there feel sore, also my bra elastic rests on it when I sit certian ways, will I eventually be able to ignore this sensation:(

Found out today my band slipped :(

Rastis I had the same kind of pain in the same location and I saw my primary care Dr sha said it was probably acid reflux, the perscription she gave me , prilosec, did the trick. See your regular DR
  12. I guess you are right, I took the post to be sort of caustic, I guess I was just looking for support not chastizing. I think we all need some TLC, especially us fatties :paranoid This is a learning experience for me. I feel I am taking things seriously, I had a lapse in judgement. From what I have read surfing around in here, many people struggle with this new way of life. I am no different. There is much to learn here. :hungry:
  13. I was stapled, they came out yesterday, OUCH of course I am a bit of a baby about stuff like this. They feel much better today. The port incision had 10 staples. The others each had 3. The scars look purple now but feel alot better.

    gallbladder problems?

hi I was banded 2 weeks ago and have been having severe stabbing pains in the upper right hand side of my breast, sort of 1-2" from the sternum. The pain seems to really intensify at night while I sleep, and when I get up it slowly goes away. I thought my band had slipped because I ate solid foods before I was supposed to. My surgeon said it is not band related and this thread has people who seem to have the same kinds of pain. I see my primary care Dr today, can gall bladder surgery also be done laproscopically?:cry
  15. Thanks Mrs smarty pants I have spoken to my surgeon and will be sticking to mushies for the next 2 weeks.
