Any 6 month nutrition people still hanging in their?
jss1988 replied to sleever314's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started my 6 month journey in June and have been gaining and losing the same 6 lbs since I started. I am trying to commit and my surgery center told me that as long as I try, I should be fine. I also have three more visits, so it sounds like our surgery dates will be quite similar. -
The fight isn't over yet...just keep trying! I hope everything works out well for you.
-
Omg you look amazing
-
My package came in today!

Idk...they ask for all of your insurance information and call you at a later time to tell you whether you are approved

I was just contacted by Insure who said that the scar cream needed a separate prescription form...hopefully everything works

DFW TX Surgeon selection? (Dallas / Ft. Worth)
jss1988 replied to Better than dead's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
@@Tazwella, Adam Smith is my surgeon as well and I am having trouble finding any information on aftercare. I used True Results who referred me to the surgeon. Does he provide aftercare? -
I believe everything...my box was 63 lbs
-
Walmart, drug stores, pretty much everywhere...it's usually in the diet aisle of the store
-
Hyleys Slim Tea in Goji Berry. I got it at Burlington Coat Factory, but any dieter's tea should work...
-
I lost 6 lbs in one weekend by drinking dieters tea three times a day and eating low carb...I had to stay at home the whole time...lol

My box is in its way...it sounds too good to be true

So tired of people saying you dont need surgery!
jss1988 replied to Shellbell619's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Shellbell619, I am so sorry that this ignorant nurse had to rain on your parade! You handled the situation a lot better because I would have told her "if diet and exercise were so easy, then why are you still overweight?" I don't get the surgery until December, but I feel sorry for anyone that has anything rude to say to me because I have a smart mouth and I will respond accordingly....lol -
@, you are making me second guess my bariatric center...lol. I think it is awesome that Dr. Kim holds so many events for his patients. True Results needs to step their game up! BTW, welcome @@Shrinkmepls!

@@Shrinkmepls, my target was only 1 lb a month so I changed my goal to getting as close to a 40 BMI as I could before my last weight loss visit which is in November. I have 30 lbs to go. Good luck ladies! I should be having my surgery sometime in early December.

I'm just beginning this process and im trying go to follow my surgeons pre-op instructions
jss1988 replied to cat268's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
@@ssflbelle, I have been to two NUT visits and all that I have been told is to eat a diet of Protein fruit and veggies and not to worry about calories at this point. I am also working on beating my cravings for fast food and binge-eating, so this is easier said than done. I am really surprised at the fact that my insurance company is even making me do this. She told me that my target weight loss is one pound a month. This almost feels like a joke (and a waste of a copay) but I am going to jump through every hoop that is required of me so that I can get this surgery. I am sorry that you are forced to keep up with NS but you won't be doing it for long... Best of luck! -
@@VSGAnn2014 lol! I thought of wearing ankle weights and a maxi dress if my weight goes under 40 BMI...

I am going through True Results. I had my first appointment (I have 6 month wait) June 16, 2015 and my second appointment was July 16, 2015. I had my second weight loss appointment and psych eval on the same day. I had a 20 minute phone conversation with a nutritionist. Have you talked with your Advocate?
-
I think every psych eval might be different. I had to answer over 300 questions before even meeting with the examiner. When I came in the room, she had 2 more tests for me to complete. I think your eval stems from how you answer the preliminary questions. I wouldn't worry about it too much. My appt. only lasted about 20-30 minutes.

@@Litzy, I am struggling with the same thing! I want to lose 30 lbs before my surgery, but all that I have been doing is gaining weight since I started this process. I completely agree with @@ShrinkingPeach when she stated that these eating habits need to be nipped in the bud. I am still working with a therapist but might need to attend a few Overeaters Anonymous groups before surgery to deal with my unhealthy relationship with food.

Worst things people have said to you or behind your back regarding surgery
jss1988 replied to Nickkibear24's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am sorry that your family is not supportive. I have had a co-worker tell me that I should not have the surgery because I am young and can lose the weight naturally. What people like that fail to understand is that I have already tried to lose weight naturally and end up gaining the weight back, plus more! If your whole family has been skinny all of their lives, then they do not know all that you have been through. I don't even listen to people who have always been skinny because they have never had to lose a significant amount of weight. Keep your head up an do what you feel is best..... -
@@ylluz welcome!

@@nyjocool - I can honestly relate to you. I have had my reservations about the surgery and have been thinking about it since last December. I understand that your family and friends are telling you that you can do this without the surgery, but there are a million ways to skin a cat. You have to honestly consult with yourself to determine what is the best avenue that works for you. Like you, I have lost and gained weight all of my life. I know what is healthy and what is not, and I still eat poorly. The only thing that I am really good at is gaining weight. Since you know that your surgery won't be until November, maybe you should try to lose weight "naturally" one last time. If it works, then you have nothing to fear because you will no longer need the surgery. If you fail to lose the weight, maybe that will ease some of your concerns about getting the surgery. Either way, you will be trying and moving one step closer to being healthy. I am getting the surgery for the same reasons you are. I am on the brink of having three comorbidities and would like to lose this weight to avoid any medication. Let me know if you would like to discuss this matter further. I wish you the best of luck.
