  1. Actually - several ppl offered you advice on it - it is YOUR decision to make on whether you want to do it or not. We are not here to tell you yes or no as we don't know how your body will react to it. You'll have to make up your own mind based on what you've read. We aren't your parents. We can only offer you our experiences. As such - mine - I vaped before surgery with 6mg and I vaped after surgery with 6mg and I have had as of now no complications from it. But that's not to say that you will or will not. You've gotten a lot of good advice and experience stories from ppl on here - except fredbear (like @@OKCPirate said big claim - needs proof). No one should tell you yes or no - as you're an adult... and we aren't your doctor or your parents.
  2. yeaaah... my roommate is going to make it difficult for me to date the guys I want to - without them knowing about the wls because he likes to tell everyone how I had 80% of my stomach cut out to lose weight, instead of just leaving it at she had surgery (which is what my sister said to our waitress the other night because the lady thought I didn't like my salad or something as wrong with my food). I'm cool with people knowing, but the way he says it and the tone he says it in is more him judging me and trying to put me down about it. And I want to date one of his friends after I am at a more confident space in my mind to deal with me and someone else.

    Strength Training Apps

I've been looking for something like this too - I keep finding ones though that are for free weights (which I'm not brave enough to go do even at PF - roommate uses them.) I like the machines better atm and would like to find an app for them. I've been carrying around one of those small binders to keep track in.

What the hell did I do to my body?

I think I'm going to join @@KristenLe and @@Cervidae over in the corner giggling! awesome post!
  5. well - I tried potted meat because it had high Protein... AND high sodium (less then half a teaspoon and I decided waaaaaaay to salty) I'll look around for pate and try it too *nods* I'm willing to try anything once! and that goes for almost everything!
  6. BTW - what is Pate?? and @@BigViffer is aboslutely right about the working out bit - I remember before surgery when I'd go to the gym - I'd do 30 mins on treadmill then go workout on the machines (i'm not brave enough to do free weights yet - roommate hangs out there) I'd be RAVENOUS afterwards... just a few more weeks til I can return to doing weights... I started back at the gym last night - did 30 mins... and it felt so good to be back there, can't wait until tonight - I have my first Water aerobics class in years
  7. I've been struggling with meeting my Protein goals too - it seems that after surgery, I am having a harder time tolerating the protien shakes that I could before. I took up Viffer's idea of baking them, I was probably doing something wrong when baking it! I could eat it, if I remembered to take really small bites, but if I took a big one - gah! only way to get it down was to drink Water while eating it. Im still working on perfecting that though - eating it is a lot easer for me then drinking. Finally figured out I can put it in my cream of wheat and be fine eating it that way. Water goals I have no problems with... just gettingmy protein in. Friday is payday, so I'm going to buy some shakes for work, and try a different protein powder with MORE protein in it - so hopefully I won't have to eat/drink as much of it to meet goal.
  8. That's definitely been my motto around here lately!! Do what you want, get what you get. If it works for you -- AWESOME! If it doesn't, choose to change it or don't. Not my circus, not my monkeys. Oh, and you forgot the popcorn. NO, popcorn!!! I've been very good, do not bring it to my attention! I'm getting better at walking right past all those awesome looking bags, and not even giving them a second glance... but then I'm staying away from movie theaters for a little while longer too and I'll probably dump the bag on one of my sisters should they have the misfortune to make some... One sister already did something loco, invited me over for dinner, and I mean she actually made it a point to call and ask me to come over - something she VERY rarely does, so I was like absolutely I'll be over! and she does know I am not supposed to eat certain things. Guess what she made - homemade mac and cheese with chicken in it and potatoe chips baked on top - not a veggie in sight, and I just sighed, and picked out the chicken.

    My work here is done

I'm paying attention! I stay far away from popcorn... and been working hard to stay on my diet. Finally figured out Protein to be able to drink or eat it... and that's thanks to all the vets! *hugs* Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

When can I eat potatoes, pasta, etc.,?

Ask your surgeon/nutritionist, mine says Protein, veggies, carbs. I've noticed I don't have the issues others do with various foods, which means I have to be super careful what I eat as I'm at solid stage now... while I can't eat a lot - I don't want this to be a waste of time. But I'm staying away from rice, Pasta, and potates for a long time. Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

WLS Part 2 - Electric Boogaloo

Electric Boogaloo - lol I loved that movie and the first... I think they cut way to many scenes but the music and dancing was what made it. ???? Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

  14. I have a couple of goal rewards all tattoos though since I'm deathly afraid of needles they are big rewards. Reaching 200 - and reaching/staying at goal (135) with plastics (probably). I should probably think of smaller goals for on the way though to keep me motivated. Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

  16. Be careful going into the ocean if your incisions are not fully healed - due to all the bacteria in the ocean. But I was cleared to swim in a pool week after surgery - just nothing strenuous (spelling) Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

    The great straw debate!

I know this thread was more about drinking with straws, but I thought I should throw this out there as it mentions caffiene(spelling). http://www.iflscience.com/editors-blog/52-common-myths-and-misconceptions-debunked/
