Other surgeries to explain scars to new partner
libby43 replied to Shainadelphia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't lie but would not answer until ready to do so. You don't owe anyone anything concerning your medical health. If he was to ask I would just tell him not ready to be open about me medical surgeries at this time. But assure him you are well and doing good. I had my gallbladder done 17 years ago and my sleeve done almost 5 months. The scares are nothing a like. -
I love this protein shake...

My Dr. Change my medication until we found the right one that worked for me. I'm on a very high dose little 80 mg. of nexium and it really works for me. Now I must remind myself to eat and drink every day. Well at the beginning just felt my surgery didn't work like everyone else's sleeve, but that has changed after finding the right medication and dosage. Good luck

Understanding how you feel. Well I'm a week from making five months and been in a stall but talk to my nutritionist and found out was not getting in enough calories. I guess at around five months a person should be getting in 1200 calories a day. I'm still not even close to that with eating food and still drinking protein shakes throughout the day. She even requested I drink more shakes to help get in my calories. Good luck

My scale and I have a love hate relationship, so this morning we broke up until the New Years . I've been in a stall for over two weeks now. I know it's part of the process, but just don't like it very much. Does anybody have any ideas on how to get the scale moving again. I workout, get my protein in, drink my water, and started a different excise program , but nothing is working.

I'm sticking to my plan no matter if I weight every day or on New Years . This surgery cost me a lot of money and that keeps me very motivated and to not let myself or my family down. My family has sacrifice for me to get healthy and to enjoy life. I understand some people might need to weight themselves in order to stay on track ,but I'm not one of those people. It's just very upsetting weighing myself and the weight don't come off. Lol my brain must work different than most people, you see that's enough to send me to refrigerator and giving up and eating , thinking I was failing every day. Thank you for giving me another view to keep in mind .

Not yet... plan on calling on Monday . Not really sure , so up my protein thinking that might help but no. This is my first stall and I'm 4 1/2 months out. Just hoping this is not going to be a long stall. I'm a slow loser as it is but I'm going to get there soon. Just putting away my scale and focus on the plan.

Well before my sleeve never could keep my favorite foods in my house. My children and their friends would eat everything. Lol now my food going bad and nobody wants to eat my food. Has anyone else had trouble sharing their food or snacks with other. I was cleaning out my refrigerator this morning and had to giggle a little.
-
Well my children are 18 and 21 and both live at home. They do their own cooking as they are very independent adult. You can't force grown children to eat what you prepare for meals. I was speaking mostly about wasting food and nobody to share my type of food choices with them. My taste buds has changed so much not everybody can eat the same way as me. So that being said some of my food goes to waste. Would like some ideas on better ways to make my food last longer.

I've notice many bruises appearing on my body. Really not sure how they happen. Has anyone else notice this problem.

I'm 4 month out... This is mostly on my legs. I was never given blood thinners .

Soda is a very slippery slop for me. Don't plan on drinking it even after reaching goal. I was one of those people who drank all my calories. It's been 6 months and doing great not having it at all. Really hope the the craving never comes back for me.

I'm a little over four months out and my hair is falling out so fast. My hair is thin to begin with and starting to feel scared. Well I used everything I've read to use but nothing is working. Just wondering how long does this last and how long before it grows back?

Will update later

Oh my! My hair was thin before surgery. Hope I don't loss much more hair.

Get all my victims in and calcium daily. I also use biotin shampoo and conditioner plus take biotin pills. I also get a b12 shot monthly. My protein and fluid intake is good. I still drank protein shakes to help me get all the protein in daily. I also juice to get my veggies in daily. Just need to deal with the hair loss:(

I go from my highest weight.

I used unflavored protein and added a couple of teaspoons of sugar free pudding mix to mine or sugar free jello. My nut gave me the idea. Just add enough to flavor but not to thicken . Check with you nut first. Good luck
-
This was my breakfast couldn't eat the jello, or drink crystal light i was so nauseous

Keep in mind all the fluids you will be receiving from the iv.... I was up all day and night using the bathroom. Bring more supplies than you use at home. Just a idea but you could set a alarm clock to get up and empty often that might help you from running into the embarrassment. I was hooked up to so much iv, leg pumps, blood pressure cuff, and oxygen monitor , and oxygen to my nose. Well with all the fluids and needing to get unplugged anyone could've a accident. Don't stress over this and it could happen to anyone. -

I'm hitting my first stall at three and half months out. I'm going to just embrace and go a long for the ride. Well I don't really have much of a choice in the matter. Lol ???? -
How long should I continue to weigh my food? I'm three and a half months out and still weigh everything. I just feel like this keeps me in check with not over eating. At this time can only eat three oz of food per meal.

Yup. Good stuff, indeed. It was one of the few permissible powders on my NUT's plan. So grateful. This and the mocha version were much appreciated powders during my pre & post op liquid diets. Yes I love the mocha also???? I love to drink my Protein Shake. How do you mix yours. I use my fair life milk or Water.
