Muscle pain after surgery?
msgal2181 replied to shadowsoldier's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thanks guys I was on morphine in the hospital but came home with Loratab. I hate the way the make me feel but I have had to take them a few times. It is easing up some and I really think once my drain is removed I will feel better. -
Muscle pain after surgery?

I'm having the same bad left side pain and my surgery was Wednesday. Did anyone have any pain medication that helped? -
Well surgery happened and I'm home. The gas pain is real and the thought of trying to eat at all is not appealing. I'm very tired but so glad it's done!! Thanks to everyone for the support!

I have waited 3 years to have weight loss surgery and at 530 in the morning I will be arriving at the hospital for gastric bypass. It's been quite and whirlwind. I'm so nervous. Not about the surgery or the pain but I'm just anxious and feeling like something is going to go wrong and they won't be able to do the surgery. I know this is crazy but it seems to good to be true? Just ready for my life back!! Anyone else have the unrealistic fears ?

I'm on my liver shrink and one week out from RNY and I'm a night shifter too. Twelve hour shifts and I take nuvigil for shift work disorder & I'm hoping I won't need it after surgery!

I went for my pre-op appointment yesterday morning and then at 315 in the afternoon I called and I was approved!!! I'm so excited and so ready! Surgery date Oct. 27th at 0530 am! -
Yes hopefully we can be surgery buddies. I called this afternoon and it's still pending. I'm going to give it a rest for the weekend (only because they won't be there lol ) and start back on Monday morning!! Good luck everyone!!

I called. I've called everyday. It's pending now and I'm going to call again today! I'm glad I called though because the first day they told me they had to send a letter out to obtain a denial from my primary insurance (which doesn't cover) and I knew they had that already and sure enough she found it and then told me she sent to pre certification department however when I called them the next day they had it but my insurance company had changed to a national per certification office on October 1st and my stuff was at the wrong place and then the next day and I called and they had it but the office had a system wide failure and it took another 24 hours to get it entered but it's pending now and I'm so excited and so nervous! I have a surgery date of October 27th pending this approval!!! I'm also now a non smoker and got to mark that on the patient information at my eye doctor yesterday and that felt awesome!!! Good luck everyone...

I got my surgery date of 10/27 and paperwork was suppose to be submitted on October 1st but today the insurance company says they don't have it yet ? I'm confused and anxious. My insurance company is Aetna. -
I'm seeing Dr. Wegner and have my final visit Thursday. All insurance required pre-op appointments done and I'm ready to submit. I had three supervised visits and I'm curious about exactly what this fourth visit is for? Will they schedule my surgery prior to approval and will I see the doctor. Also how long was your wait for surgery after you were approved and did any of you smoke and when did they test for nicotine or did they? Sorry so many questions I'm just getting excited!!

Right there with you. We submit to insurance Oct. 6th!! So exited and ready. This has really gone fast. At first I was devastated and overwhelmed with all the things I was going to be required to do for approval but my patient advocate at my surgeons office has been wonderful. She had all my requirements listed and appointments made. The process has been much easier and the nutrition and dietician meetings were truly valuable!! Good luck everyone!! Hoping for a November surgery date!!

When my son was 5 I was talking to a friend about a diet I was on and told her "there's a skinny girl in here somewhere" and patted my stomach and my five year old turned around saw me and loudly ask across the room "well momma why did you eat her?" I wanted the floor to open and swallow me! Kids are honest and sometimes it's brutal!

I just wanted to say please don't get upset when someone doesn't understand your situation. Only you know what you have done and what you are doing. I had a hysterectomy in 2012 and diagnosed with hypothyroidism and I have dieted, I have taken prescription medication, I have joined a gym and given up all the foods I was told to by my PCP who has been so understanding and has told me I needed the surgery. I could not pay the cash price with two kids in college and one in high school so I just kept trying and my weight would drop 10 lbs only to go up 7 lbs and then drop 2 and then gain 15 doing the same thing. This was so hard on me physically and mentally. I fought with my insurance who has a exclusion by my employer and I started saving for a trip to Mexico. My doctor told me my weight had been going up and down around 12 lbs for 18 months no matter what I had tried. People think you are lazy or have no self discipline or you are depressed or have repressed some childhood trauma or just given up. I never gave up and finally my husband was offered a new job with more money and insurance that would cover the surgery and he is so supportive and never questioned changing jobs to give me what I needed. Please don't give up and keep taking care of yourself and let the negative people go. I have seen some people talk about a doctor in Texas, Dr. Kim who has a cash price of 4900 dollars I think. I am not sure what that covers and what the hospital would require but it might be worth looking into for sure. Good luck and Best wishes.

Hi I'm new here but I've been researching and wanting WLS for two years and my husband started a new job and his insurance will cover my surgery. My BMI is over 40 and I had a brain tumor removed in 2012 and have been working with my PCP for years trying to lose weight and have lost 10 then gained it back. I have hypothroidism. I was just wondering if my PCP appointments would count as the supervised weight loss appointments that are required. My husband works work Glaxosmithkline if anyone is familiar? I'm going to see Dr. Woodman in Memphis, Tn Tuesday.
