my insurance is a freaking nightmare. first of all, i have a $5000 co pay, then they pay 20% of the remaining costs. WOW! really? then, i have to a multi disciplinary surgical prep regimen. that includes 1. a behavior modification program 2. consultation with a nutritionist 3. documentation by a physician of my participation of this program for 3 months 4. begin a supervised exercise regimen, with an exercise therapist or qualified personnel (who would that be??) 5. decreased calorie diet supervised by a nutritionist. Just seems like a big hassle and another big expense. i really should stop complaining and look at the good side of all of this. i am just overwhelmed by how to start all of this. i need to talk to the coordinator at my surgeons office again
that is incredible how easy it has been for you!! and no pain or discomfort? good for you! that is very encouraging. did you have lap band? i still cant believe how quickly the weight came off!!

no, I had a Sleeve. I paid $1217.00 out of pocket. $1000 for my deductible and $217 for some other fee that ins does not pay. I had to do a diet of a protein shake for breakfast and lunch and chicken and broccoli for dinner for 2 weeks before the surgery. I had no other hoops to jump through. Honestly, I don't feel as if I even had surgery. Other than the fact I started eating "food" yesterday and am full with just a couple bites. My incisions are already almost completely healed, and have had no issues. I read horror stories about other people in this forum who are down for months. Cant hardly keep water down, ect...... From what i understand it it mostly because my surgeon did an amazing job putting things back together, no swelling bruising the stomach or anything else.
