Hi everyone I'm feeling down today. Was walking just now and I couldn't even walk properly my knees hurt my back hurts and I couldn't wait to get home and lie down. I can't walk fast or I'll start breathing heavily/ heaving. Sometimes I wonder how did I get to this place. This whole process is taking forever with insurance, with all the requirements and sometimes I wonder if I'll ever get my date. I just needed to rant

Just wondering if anyone got their sleeve from meeting the doctor to surgery? With the insurance and pre op requirements?

Hi All, I don't have much time to cook for myself and in all honesty i don't know how to cook well at all. I tried and they call tasted baddddd. Any ideas of what I can buy in the supermarket that I can just grab and buy and eat (pop into the microwave and it's a done deal) that is healthy and that you guys post op have approved and worked for you? I mean deli hams work but eating them everyday has been boring. Maybe soups? What kinds do you buy that doesn't hinder your weight loss? I have low fat cheeses etc. But I feel like there is more out there I just don't have ideas of what.

Ideas for ready made stuff I can buy to eat?
wagyu replied to wagyu's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Hi @wagyu. Just wanted to let you know that I lost 150 lbs. without cooking my own meals. I live in NYC and have a very small kitchen. I live alone and cooking just seemed like a big old pain in the neck. I shopped at upscale markets for prepared meals and that's what I ate. Mostly fish and chicken along with veggies and even a bit of carbs such as a very small potato, or 1/4 cup pasta/rice. Stay away from fried foods, things you know will have alot of calories and sodium/fat. Other than that, you should be OK. Again...I get that cooking yourself gives you more control but I'm proof that you can do it without cooking your own food. Good luck! Gosh thank you so much for this. I too am in the Nyc area so the struggle is real with the kitchen issue. I can't believe you lost 150!! Congratulations. I messaged you for the actual places you go to get your ready made food because it would be great to know where in nyc helped you lose weight I haven't seen this in my area going to be a mission to find this. Looks so convenient. Have all of you tried the P3 packs? -

EEEE! Thanks a lot everyone. Great ideas!!! Oh should've made it clear, I can bake and fry and stuff but not like lets make lasagna or stew kinds of things are what I meant. Also it's hard on the road and when you come back at 2am everyday (company gives us $$ for dinner but the problem with that is I don't know the calories when I am ordering seamless/grubhub) so I think it is safer if I had something canned or packaged with me so I can log it into Myfitnesspal and count the calories. I usually order a salad or something grilled/steamed but again logging it in myfitnesspal is difficult, and sometimes i don't know what's in those "light" sauces. So just wondering what ya'll do or are there healthy alternatives. But it seems like not many healthy alternatives that are packaged and good to go. I did bake black cod and salmon a couple of times the night before and brought leftovers to the office, but it literally stinks up the office the next day when I bring it for lunch and nuke it in the toaster and microwave and it isn't the same the next day. And sometimes I run out of the pantry as fast as I can so ppl don't figure it's me stinking up the office with my fish. Haha, so I kinda stopped doing that for a while. I also have a packet of hard boiled eggs in the fridge and deli hams. I guess i just need to be creative with what i mix around with it because i just usually eat ham with cheese, or just the egg. the cucumbers with the salad sounds good and totally doable. It's also been hard chowing down on meats so I've just been eating fish. I'll try the chicken salad, I've been terrified to go near mayo so I'll do that. -

THIS IS FAB! what kind of low carb low calorie sausages do you buy? I hesitate to buy those because they are so high in calories and stuff, any particular ones you bought? Also the baby turkey sausages what brands/types. -
OMGGGGGG. I am kind of the opposite of some of you. My Tummy is skinnier, everything else absolutely NO CHANGE. My stomach losses first and everything else is last. Like at first LOVED it. but after a while losing the pounds... my arms are huge my thighs huge, my butt huge... like can we take a break from the stomach and distribute evenly??? I don't blame some of you for the frustration and i totallyyyy get it. i guess we take what we can right? but still.... i need to lose the weight elsewhere

Hope everyone is doing well. good luck and congrats to those in pre op!!

Wow yall this 3 week stall thing is crazy and real. I have been 195 for 2 weeks now. Trying not to be discouraged
-
Wow! What was your starting weight and now? When did you have surgery? I started at 269 and I am now 194. with 29 pounds to go. I had VSG on Feb 24, 2015, so almost 7 month ago. That's awesome! How tall are you? I'm 195 and I sure don't look like you woo girl! Looking good!

That's my surgery date as well!!! Todate have lost about 24 lbs as well

Hi All, i'd love to avoid another surgery like an arm lift. What is your way of avoiding saggy flabby arms, it was already flabby 30 lbs ago but now with the weight falling off, i know there will be excess skin on the arms, anyone have any ideas on how to minimize the excess skin with the weight falling off rapidly? I am going to get in exercise once I am cleared.
-
So I think I did something wrong I weigh myself everyday. I stepped on the scale today 2 lbs heavier from yesterday. How... Is this possible ????? Anyways do you step on it everyday? Should we ? Shouldn't we? Once a week? What do you think

See I got the cookies and cream nectar and it tasted awfully sweet to me so I couldn't stomach it. Maybe I should mix it with almond milk and add how that goes.
-
I've been eating s lot of eggs yum mm!!! And I can eat meatballs and stuff but they have to be extremely soft. I've also been eating guacamole! Delicious. The premier protein I used to love now it just tastes awful to me. I don't know what to do. I need to find. Protein supplement That's soon! Let us know how it gors
-
What are you eating now? Also I'm 4 weeks out and on softs and mush and I am struggling to get protein in. Such a struggle. I can't drink Protein shakes it makes me vomit. And u forget my unflavored protein which becomes suddenly flavored in food! My metabolism is probably haywire by now. I'm waiting for the doctor to say it's ok to exercise cause I'm going to exercise , some days I eat more than 800 cals and those days I really want to work out. Steady so far but ya know we are over achievers haha
-
Hi guys I feel like I'm eating too much. I'm 10 days post op. I can drink 1-2 Protein shakes, 2-3 oz of cottage cheese, pureed meat, or yogurt 3x a day, a bowl of Soup. And I still want to eat I read people who can just take a bite of Jello and get full. Or drink half a glass of protein and get full. But I can't do that. How much could you guys eat??

How long did the fast weight loss last for you?
wagyu replied to KathyRS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A month out about 30lbs. I haven't had the stall for 2 weeks yet and I am terrified. I am conditioning myself to stop thinking I'll lose 30 lbs every month because obviously that isn't the case and I do have a terrible metabolism. So yeah it's quick in the first month but as everyone says it'll slow down. Mentally preparing for it. -
Good luck!!! It's a journey but a great one

Still have a habit of ordering a million things to eat
wagyu posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And obviously can't eat much of it so I end up giving everything to the bf or brother or friends and they're getting fatter because of it lol. I still have that head hunger where I look at the menu and order things I used to but when it comes I don't like it am not hungry or just don't care for it so I pass it on to other people. Literally untouched plates. I like look at it and go ew. Everyone around me is enjoying all the free food. I love that I can't eat as much as I used to not have the urge to do so. Patting my sleeve )) -

I think this is what has to happens he orders and I pick as opposed to I order and waste everything and give it elsewhere. Problem is I hate what he eats. It's fried stuff that I just can't stomach anymore haha. Oh and he eats everything he orders plus mine
